@Riot: Please Reconsider the ARAM Changes
Riot recently decided to try out removing all the gold generation items and all the trapfinding items (excluding oracle's elixer) from ARAM. As someone who primarily plays ARAM, I can't help but feel this is a big mistake.
First off, we NEED those trapfinding items. Champs like Teemo and Shaco can set up huge amounts of traps and are very powerful in this mode, and the elixer option simply isn't good enough. I would also argue that the trapfinder items don't punish Teemo too much, since a good Teemo will just shroom the wave you are hiding in and hit your team with large chunks of damage if he can't hide his shrooms wherever he wants. Furthermore, these items were not exactly like Ohmwrecker, and were common situational buys.
Second, the gold generation items are a solid core to ARAM's meta. The actives are very useful, the gold generation is nice but not OP, and since the mana regen on FQC was nerfed I don't see any reason to remove these items which appear in a large chunk of ARAM games.
Third, the new guardian items are pretty useless. People are still going to go straight for a NLR or a BF Sword, and you removed a strong ARAM-only item (
) that was extremely valuable for its active and not for its base stats.
ARAM could use some friendly balancing, but don't create a solution in search of a problem. These changes most likely won't help the mode.
back when every AP champ was getting it due to its high regen. That was nerfed ages ago, so I don't see why any of these changes are needed.
