@Riot Don't nerf Riven

I'll be direct in giving my reasons. I only have two really important ones.

  1. The first and largest reason is that it's unneeded. Riven already suffers in the current meta. Her play rate is down 25% from what it was a few months ago. Most of the people playing her in ranked right now have over a hundred games with her this season alone. We've seen what happens when the less experienced players of a champion stop playing them before; their win rate actually goes up. She's already never seen competitively, negative changes are not at all what she needs. Even Shaco got picked this year, I'd like to actually see Riven once in a blue moon.

  2. It gives power to the same people who abuse Riven players in game. Playing Riven gets you more hatred and personal insult just for picking her than any other champion I play. It's not restricted to the usual "I dislike your champion, so I'll comment on it in a crude manner" kind of shit, either. For some reason this community thinks it's just fine to circlejerk their hatred of Riven players, and we get a lot of shit in game whether we provoke any of it or not.

It's the same people who do this garbage in game that espouse the idea here on the boards and on reddit that Riven players are just bad people who it's okay to abuse, and who frequently ask for things varying from nerfs to her deletion, and the banning of everyone who plays her. Why do these people get to have power over Riven players in and out of game? It sends the message that the squeaky wheel gets the grease, and also to take the grease from the other wheels, without actually having to be good at rolling.

  1. The nerf isn't significant enough to appease the people mentioned above, who will continue to treat Riven players badly.

  2. It will be much harder to do well as Riven because contrary to popular belief that 5 MS is a huge deal against a champion like Riven who has to fight being kited, has zero sustain, and takes minion aggro during trades. Combined with the above this will just end in a small but noticable increase in the amount of garbage I'm personally going to have to sit through in my games. And this honestly bothers me more. It feels, even though I know it's not the case, that Riot is condoning the shit people who play Riven go through by appeasing their detractors.

And that feels bad.

Edit: The fact that I'm being downvoted by people who haven't even read the post (it happened immediately) kind of supports my point. :/

Should be better if they nerf katarina, at least Riven has animation and skill cap

If it were a nerf to her ratios, I may be more willing to listen to an argument. But since it is literally just her base movement speed and her missile speed on her ultimate, it's really not a big deal. People adapt quite easily.

It's not even a nerf. That's more of a love tap. I wish they would straight-up butcher he ratios.

People dont like playing against Riven, simple as that.

Its obnoxious, its extremely pick reliant to the point of toxiciness.

Even there, this isnt even a nerf, its just a nerf to the things Riven barely uses. Its up there with Lee's ''wards arent shielded'' and Zed's ''000.1 less base ASPD'' nerfs in the ''actually didnt affect anything'' changes.

For all the riven mains out there saying not to nerf just stop because all ur goona get is a bunch of crap. I think riven should be easier countered seeing the jugg update came out. Champs like daruis garen mundo. Should be able to dominate riven top lane. And all u need is a good stun locking supp like thresh or blitz. Gnar can stun lock pretty well to. Also supp jglers like ww or skarner would be able to shut down riven with help from the top laner. I dont think this nerf/buff should go through bc since riven doesnt do to good in team fights she is really good at cleaning up and with the new rework concerning edge with her ult nerfs her ability to clean up as well
