Vlad Support?
Why is
Support considered a troll pick?
While I can understand how it might not work in higher eloes, I got flamed at each and every time I went Vlad support in Silver even though we ended up winning and I got an S for it.
He's really not that bad of an option in low elo. Games almost NEVER close out before everyone is 17/18 because you know both sides are going to make throws or have coordination issues in closing out leads.
At level 17, Vladimir is one of the (or THE) most powerful champion in the game. He easily 1 vs 2s/3s, has INSANE bait potential, and his Ultimate has such insane utility.
He isn't nearly as bad in lane as other supports. You just avoid battle but if a battle erupts, hit the ADC with your Qs and Es. You can also trade if you play carefully because of your sustain.
In the mid game, he doesn't need many items to be useful because he has his Ultimate damage amp. I feel like he does a LOT MORE than an Annie support (which no one has a problem with) at levels 6-9 even if behind. He has spammable AOE damage and a game-changing ultimate.
Also, by taking Ancient Coin at the beginning and still building full damage, you can get enough gold at levels 13-14 to really take off.
Your team will lack vision and it will lack peel, but hey... who cares? Because in Silver, games will go on until levels 17/18 anyways and by then having a potential hyper carry like Vlad AND an ADC is far more useful than having a Thresh or a Braum with a few unimpressive support items.
Trading damage for support items is also questionable since the onus is often on each player to potentially damage carry anyways.
