Why do people refuse to ward?

ReadyxPlayerxOne··2 votes·644 views

I'm not asking for much I think. I ask every game for players to buy ONE pink ward. I show them where to place it. I ask them to help ward certain objectives such as dragon, tribush, or baron. I ask them to upgrade to a blue trinket or for the support to grab a sightstone. If it's a lee sin jungler I ask that they ward in certain places.

AND I GET COMPLETELY FUCKING IGNORED???????

I even ask them why they're not warding. Nothing. Literally, my team sits there like cows with blank faces on them without any explanation of why they won't help do something that is literally the difference between winning and losing.

It's the most frustrating thing for me. It's thousands of teams that have done it at this point. Literally I've had ONE game where we had vision on the jungle and it's mostly because I put out 50 wards in a really long game and the enemy wasn't countering it at all.

So I'll ask the boards. Why do you refuse to ward?

Just mind blowing that teams can't do something so simple. [zombie-brand-mindblown]

Because #4 usually.

EDIT: Lol, why the downvotes? This is the general attitude of non-Support players, not me.

You realize that the most any one player can put out is 4 wards. And the support for most of the early game will be bot lane right? There's at least 8 critical places to keep wards on. 16 if you want to really screw a team over in the jungle. This just doesn't make sense to me, I know it's been drilled into supports by every asshole player ever that "warding is a support job" but it's not. Now so more than ever.

Could you explain a bit more?

I feel you misinterpreter my post. I'm not saying that I don't ward using that reasoning (I'm a Support main, lulz) but that it is the apparent general attitude of most non-Support players. I'd very much love to see an increase on other players warding, too.

Because as a super squishy no mobility support, going off into the fog of war on my own to ward usually ends in instant death if I meet the enemy team.

Learn to bounce Wards off of walls; it can let you ward without putting yourself at risk.

Makes more sense now. Yes, I see that attitude a lot. It's horrific that every asshole in the game drills that into people and it's just completely wrong. The best teams in the world have full vision in their jungles and the enemies the entire game. Blows my mind that the vast majority of players simply refuse to even do it.

Although I'm bronze I've learned a lot from watching pro play and ward at key locations, I like to save my pink for the brush at enemy blue so I can either steal or get a free kill, I'll drop a ward at river bush and buy a pink again if mine gets destroyed, people do need to learn to ward though, usually I have more wards placed than our support at the end of the game

Wards don't do damage friend, ain't got time for that.

In all seriousness, I have no idea why it's so difficult for people. I'm usually second in warding behind the support as an ADC main. Takes very little effort to throw down a useful ward.

I've always had the same problem too. The way I look at it if I'm maxing my wards including pink then chances are the enemy team isn't warding either and at least I have SOME vision. I usually play a carry but still find enough gold to keep a pink up.

Y'know people say this all the time about how "chances are the enemy team is just as bad" and it's completely false. How do I know that? lolnexus.com; I see my team level 18-20 levelers. And I see their team... Diamond V, Plat II, Gold 1... Consistently. And of course the few that show up on my team are actually terrible. But the point is that the vast majority of teams I play against are working their asses off to counter my warding and ward my teams jungle and objectives. It's HUGE differences in the number of wards placed at the end of each match.

And I have to admit. I don't ward through the whole game most of the time because I just give up on it. It's horrifically discouraging to ward and have it destroyed 5 seconds afterward because the bush I put it in was warded already and no one else on my team is warding at all.

I just want an explanation.

Yup, and of course it is your fault as the Support when mid game rolls around and the enemy team is nowhere to be found and takes objectives and shit - even-though you had 3 Wards + Pink out.

My guess is, 90% of the time, people forget. Though forgetfulness does kinda show that those players don't stress the importance's of the vision game. But I do hate the inverse case, where people do stress the important of vision, and don't pitch in.

I also find it funny that people expect the support to do all the warding, especially then they Also expect them to stick to the support like glue. As a support main, I often find that during the laning phase, I basically have no influence North of the mid lane. So if your top lane, you will need to provide vision yourself, or get the assistance from the Jungler.

Lee sin might be more finicky about his wards, as he often uses them for ward hopping, and not necessarily placing them in strategic positions.

I've found that Junglers in general are the most Warding-inclined type of players after Support players.

Isn't that the ENTIRE point of warding? If this is actually happening have your adc and jungler help you place the ward. Either you'll get away and place the ward or you'll come up with kills because they're not expecting a real fight.

Done252 votes

Because that involves getting your team to actually work with you as the lowly support. :D

Creates a 105 gold lead to their team for only 4 autos. Unless you have full crit/damage on draven, I can't think of a single better way to create that much of a gold gap with only four autos.

So they gain 105 gold... and you can take objectives, get kills and push lanes because you know where they are (wasting 10 seconds to kill a ward) which amounts to at least 500+ gold....

Also, I know exactly how to create more gold with 4 autos. Full build jinx.

Wards are overrated - I see every day people that die from ganks when they have wards and pings from their teammates. If you have no brain, wards won't save you.

No Brain No Pain! Win, win for the person that wards and dies anyway! Plus their team might actually be able to react and kill the ganker.
