About Sejuani and lategame

I just picked her up as a top laner, and while I think it's because of colossus OP, been winning lane consistently game after game. However, if you wanna bother checking my match history, it is also an entire page of defeats. I'm not sure what is it I'm doing wrong, I don't actually feel tanky at all.

An enemy postgame told me she's a tank that's less tanky with more damage. Fair enough. But, tbh, I'm a Malphite main and I don't really notice much of a difference in damage, and he's still somewhat tankier. And I don't even take colossus on him.

So, the pig, early bully with no late? Or just trash?

She's one of the tanks who can most justify building nothing but durability, dunno what that player was talking about. Nautilus and Sejuani are the undisputed King and Queen of cc and thus do not need any damage to be useful in a team fight in the late game.

Sejuani isn't really designed to dive into the enemy back-line like malph is. She's more focused on AoE and she has more CC in her kit overall than malph does, so she does well in team comps with a lot of AoE damage. She's also better at peeling enemies off her team's carries than Malph is.

Hmmm, peeling huh. Maybe that's where I went wrong. I was trying to dive like I usually do on Malphite but it never seemed to work. Usually, when I'm on Malph, ulting the ADC and keeping him perma E'd usually does the job so I normally leave the peeling for the team's support.

Sejuani arguably has one of the strongest late games for tanks

all you really need for damage is IBG, maybe a Liandry if another resist item isn't needed

It's not that Sejuani is bad, it's that Malphite is complete bullshit that is tankier than most other tanks and also deals better damage than most of them, being able to easily solo ADCs for most or all of the game, and being able to duel skirmishers mid-game.

Nah, unless you're talking AP malphite deleting them, regular old tank malphite cannot solo ADC lategame. Armor pen and damage is just that strong. For perspective, I was up against a 4 AD team on Sej, had 3.5k HP and 368 armor. Deleted in 3 seconds by assassins. I doubt Malph's extra ~100 armor (had 487 in one game before) is going to make any difference at that point against a class that is made to kill tanks.

Assassins, as in plural? Yeah, you can't 1v3+ as Sejuani, or as Malphite.

But dueling most ADCs? Why not? Your attack speed slow literally halves their DPS for most of the 1v1, and they can't drain tank you because between your massive armour, ninja tabi, randuin's, and thornmail they won't be able to out-heal your damage.

MAYBE in the late game six slotted he can't, but for most of the game? It's easy.

I wasn't trying to win a 1v3. I was trying to live to do my job to... tank, which I built for while trading off damage. One thing about Malph though, he is definitely tankier than Sej, but not by much. I haven't played him as tank much since the assassin patch, but I know I got screwed over by them armor pen ADC who conveniently tend to be casters that don't really use their AS much anyway.
