I'm confused by Champion prices...

Me and a friend who started about the same time were discussing champs and both decided to buy the same one.

We both had 2k~2.1k IP, I was waiting because it told me the champ costs 3150 but my friend told me it costs only 1350 for him. At first I thought he was being dyslexic and reading the numbers wrong, but then he showed me that he had bought it. Meanwhile I'm sitting there staring at the 3150 and when I try to buy it I am told "Not enough RP/IP".

... what gives? O_o

How can the exact same champ have different prices for two different people? Is this normal? o_O

did he buy it with RP ?

Nope. For me the champion Twitch costs 3150 IP or 790 RP. He said that for him the cost shown was 1350 IP or 585 RP.

Before he bought Twitch I had 2061 IP 0 RP and he had 2102 IP 0 RP. It let him buy it and reduced his IP down to 752. Meanwhile I am still stuck seeing it at 790/3150 and unbuyable.

Sooo from the sounds of it this was just a freak bug and he should be counting his blessings? I wish I had that kind of luck with bugs. My luck with bugs has always been bad results not good ones. xD

Champion prices are the same for everyone, and are set by how many champions ago they were released. You can find the list of who's prices will be reduced/were reduced here.

That makes sense... but I am confused - there are 136 champions out now but the #135 and #136 releases which were supposed to lower Rengar and Syndra never did. Did it get discontinued even though it says "permanent" schedule?

Wasn't Rengar 6300 before? I'm pretty sure Syndra was 6300 not too long ago. They're both 4800 now, same as Jayce (just before them) while the champion just after them (Kha'zix) is still 6300. Looks like they just haven't updated the article yet.
