I feel that having elo be based off of your individual win/loss ratio in a team based game is a mistake. For ranked 5v5 teams it works, but the current solo que elo system is better suited for 1v1s.

It's difficult to read a situation when theres derps on both teams. With better players you have some idea what theyre going to try to do because its the smart thing to do.

No it's true. I have a couple smurfs and sometimes ain't shit I can do down there.

I worked from bronze 4 to plat 3 and I can tell you that you'll have many games where people just don't appreciate the seriousness of ranked matches as much as you do. It took almost 500 matches of hard work and skill refining to get out of the "elo hell".

While the current system is extremely un-rewarding to individual skill, I feel like grinding through all of the demotions and series losses has made me appreciate the rank system and those who are ranked above me. Even at plat/diamond level I still get the occasional bronze attitude players which is a shame and upsetting.

I gave up getting out of silver recently. even if I won 2 of every 3 games id only go up by about 3 LP (on average). So even if my win rate in silver was around 66% (its not) i'd still have to play around 103 games to get just one series. not even to get out of silver just one of 5 series. to extend that out im looking at over 500 games to escape silver. Assuming I can maintain a 2 wins for every loss ratio. which in silver simply isn't possible.

Context: I played 3 games today. I won 2. I gained 11 and 13 LP on my wins. (I usually get around 13.) I lost 1 game. I lost 23! LP. my net LP for today with a 66% win rate is +1. (I may have played more games but this is the core of what I have to deal with.)

There is no progress to be made here. there is no hope. The only thing that makes it bearable is that I have not, nor do I intend to EVER spend money on this game.
