I just want to say a big reason Morde did so well in LCS is because the team comp was so good

This could be said about any game, but let's look at the flyquest game vs Envy G3

The team on Flyquest was: Nautilus Graves Orianna Mordekaiser Blitzcrank

It's a comp obviously made to fit morde's style, except graves. nice lock down from naut and blitz, speed boosts and shields from ori.

Due to morde's pitiful MS, along with the lack of cc, if we have Jayce Graves Akali Brand on your team, the effectiveness of morde bot would be very diminished.

As a noob morde (sorry morde mains), i had good and bad games. I realise how important team comps are when playing morde. This might not be true if you are experienced on morde, but if you are going to be an inexperienced morde player in rank just cuz you saw LCS, keep this mind and check your comp.

Graves is the most important part. He provides a high damage DPS threat to draw aggro away from the Morde. Morde benefits enormously from champions that can go in with him and absord aggro. Graves fills that role perfectly.

The team also has a severe lack of physical damage without graves.

juggernauts are marksmen 2.0

they are like them, they can't do anything alone in pro plays. they need their team to bring CC and initation they aren't TANKS

and that's why riot should make all juggernauts going botlane

they need to bring in a support that has a similar effect as ivern's Q, but on a champ designed to go bot (not jung like ive). Right now, people will call you a troll and blame you for going non-ranged bots. Riot needs to actively say, 'screw the traditional meta' and do something crazy to initiate a more diverse botlane, unless they secretly don't want the bot lane to change (which i think is the case)

plz don't make me even more reliant on soloq retards to play the champs i like

Then tell the support to roam while you 1v2. It is like playing against Quinn or Teemo top, you sit back and take cs from under tower until you can either get a gank or all in them with a massive burst while ignoring their damage. This is even easier in a 1v2 because you will get the exp faster than them and get ahead.

it's already the case in high elo if you pick top lane darius

your game is defined by your jungler pick and if your jungler counterganks or not then in teamfight you can't do anything without initiation or ccs

Exactly my experience even in Platinum, that is why I split push and force the enemy to come after me (ward that jungle if ya gonna do some splitting).

"I said something that's true so I'm gonna get downvoted because these boards have the value of a caterpillar that dies right before it starts cocooning."

Don't worry, I got the upvote.

i got used to it that i don't care about downvotes anymore tbh, i just say something and i know people's mind is going to be affected

As someone who played exclusively melee bot lanes during the preseason, and had some success in ranked with them before my duo buddy found his Jhin fetish, troll supports and heavy farm Lee Sins must have been 80% of my losses. Jax was my favorite to bring down bot, but most of the juggernauts were successful. I also tried Wukong, thinking his passive would help out, but he gets destroyed even with Leona as the support.

If anyone is wanting to know the main reason to grab a melee champ instead of a marksmen, it's tower dives. Turning around a 4 man dive as Jhin Nami is hard. Turning around a 4 man dive as Thresh Riven/Darius/Jarvan is easy. They also dive better as well, bringing higher burst damage than marksman.

They aren't perfect carries, however. You give up the ranged tower sieging of marksman, as well as any waveclear/initiation that the current meta has. You generally gain a safer transition to mid-game and an earlier spike in damage for killing tanks (marksmen need 3 items to duel a Nautilus, Darius needs just 1). And you have to lane safer as a melee champ; you get poked and shoved in untill you can threaten all ins, which requires different amount of levels depending on bot lane comp, even if most melee lanes are scary starting level 2. So don't go bot with the general mindset of most forum posters of "lol double broozer bot im so cool," and then lock in nocturne shyvana, you need an actual plan for the entire game. AND YOU NEED AN ACTUAL SUPPORT.

TLDR: actually learn melee bot before arguing against it, or just downvoting for no reason.

I recall back in the dim days of Season 1 Juggernauts bottom weren't terribly uncommon.

But then again, basically anything could show up bottom lane since the meta hadn't become a calcified tumor yet.

Wtf is wrong with juggernauts going bot lane? I would love to support Darius DrMundo Illaoi or Shyvana instead of fucking Jhin and Varus every game.

In Proplay they build around Morde. In Yolo que they don't. Being so team relaint is the greatest failure of the Rework.

Any team with Blitzcrank Nautilus Graves can win. The other two are filler really.

I just want to point out that he also leveled up his Harvester of Sorrows (W) first, which I found interesting.

It seems it's what people have been doing for a while, not just junglers anymore

Malicious Metal3 votes

Really? Everyone's been maxing HoS ever since he got access to the spell in solo lanes.

Avios12 votes

I don't play Morde all that often tbh, I just found it interesting for those like me who are illiterate In the art of the Master of Metal.

I'm more literate in the art of Shrooms, but that's just me.

REVERT MORD1 votes

It used to be almost always E max pre-rework, but the spell's base damage took a big hit and the % shield isn't useful in lane when you're only up against 1 or 2 people at most.

Maxing W provides a massive heal if you get two champs in it and reduces the cooldown from 12-8s.

Ya Morde is plagued with bugs though. Theres a thread on the front page of the LoL subreddit detailing most of (if not all of) the bugs in one of their recent matches. Thinking to myself, what would Morde be like if those bugs didn't exist? How can teams justify picking a bug filled mess? Its risky, and I hate people picking him in my ranked games, because hes such a risky/bugged out pick. I'd rather not risk it, why do pro players?

Someone told him to play Morde, we won't be seeing the champion again any time soon in pro play, at least not performing well. He has too many bugs.

The main reason morde did succed in those two games was actually that envy had a bad comp and ninja a quite bad day with game loosing missplays... Also, in coordinated play, the main focus for morde is more haveing dragon controll, as his dragon ghost is about as impactfull as morde himself.

Earl Eulrich1 votes

not at all, what morde did in both games had been taking a still overpowered Dragonghost and thus for getting a lot of value out of NV throwing the game...or well, mostly just Ninja having a terrible day. He did lose lane in both games and really didn´t add much in the teamfights they won.

clearly, mord is op and has been for 6 seasons now, he can play all the roles and gets free dragons. gg rito metal man to stronk

Yep guys! Clearly the champion is complete garbage and it's only his team carrying him. Yep!
