Backloading Dark Harvest's damage is a good idea, but just "half health" isn't backloaded enough.

When your aggressive kill-focused rune is best used by Xerath and company, you know you've got issues.

I really do think you're going in the right direction, but you need to take this idea further.

What I'm thinking is that you make Dark Harvest an execution threshold of sorts.

"If you deal direct damage to an enemy champion such that an additional X (+X AP) (+X b.AD) would result in their HP being dropped to 0, Dark Harvest will deal that damage. This rune gains base damage equal to Y times your kill count."

Imagine Electrocute, but instead of a burst that takes your target from 70% to 60%, it's a burst that takes them from 10% to 0%.

Interesting. I think this would make it really difficult to stack since it depends on you, and only you, being the person last-hitting. It would be tough to get the scaling right where somebody who can't get to every enemy to land the final blow still get good value, but the people who have the mobility/range to KS everything don't quickly turn into unstoppable monsters.

I think they could just push back the threshold from 50% to like, 30%, and accomplish the same effect.

Doesn't this still work on poke champs? Now it's like, oh look that guy is low. If I hit him with literally anything he's dead. It's like all your abilities are now mini Pyke ults.

Nope, not even a little.

With a half health threshold, it's easy as hell to proc in lane.

With a "near death" threshold, it's similar in effect but completely different in execution.

And no, it's not "mini Pyke ults". It's adaptive damage. Buying resists will work.

Anybody with a health potion will stick around in lane after being brought to half health, so you can easily proc it as a poke champ on that version. Nobody in their right mind sticks around if they're low enough that something an early game Xerath Q will take you to 50~ HP.
