Fairly New to Ranked; Possible to be demoted at Plat V?

So I'm still pretty new to how the ranked system works since I never really played ranked until the beginning of Season 8. I climbed from Silver 4 to Gold 4 within a month and then decided to take a long break. Now I am thinking of returning to ranked and make an attempt to climb up to Plat 5 and then just stop playing ranked there.

However, I learned that once you get to Plat and above, you lose LP after not playing ranked for like a month. Does that mean that once I get to Plat 5 with 0 LP, I will be demoted to Gold 1, or will I just remain in Plat 5 since I got 0 LP?
