A lot of the times players preselect a tank or some champion that compliments the team's comp and last-second switches to some glass cannon that completely fcks the comp...like going from Mao to Vayne top
(vayne top is the most common occurrence of this situation)
I expect players to at least make an effort to play champions that don't fck up the rest of the team, as it is a team game and ruining the experience for 4 others is a terrible attitude to have
Not to mention you reasoning is completely void for mid and adc roles

And roles aren't predefined. You CAN go Maokai bot lane or Malphite mid. You can play whatever the hell you want and put a tank in any role. I've gone WW bot and dominated.
In the end people who whine about the meta or not having the right team comp are silly cause in the end, it's how good you are with that champ, not whether you are tanky or not.
But by all means, circlejerk about how the "bad" players keep picking what they want and won't play tank when you wanted to pick a squishy carry. I'll be here playing my violin.

Your personal experience means nothing.
With that said, not every team necessarily needs a tank. The solution is not to pick Maokai ADC though.

The person could easily have picked a squishy, high damage top laner and it might have worked out. Picking a low damage champion with no utility was idiotic.

Low enough elo for team compositions to not matter? Yes, absolutely.
I can tell you from personal experience playing at that level since I am now in the top .6 - .7%.

Eh, have you played in diamond? I'm not impressed by the mechanics / decision making / build paths / game knowledge of people at the level that I spoke about, and that is with lots of experience playing at that level.
People think team comps matter, but outside of professional play and very high elo ( D2+ ) team comps mean nothing and it comes down to who has more people on their team that got ahead. I've had games where the enemy team had near perfect team comps, such as a Yasuo team comp with a malphite / orianna / zac and my team had no tanks or initiators, all poking squishies, and the game was an easy win because enough of my team mates were ahead enough to make it so the enemy team couldn't even force us to team fight since we could just split all day.
TL;DR: Team comps are for professional play and maybe the top of the top of the ladder ( D2+) and don't matter at all outside of that. I got to diamond multiple seasons on multiple accounts each season just spamming Nocturne regardless of team comp, so obviously it isn't all that hard to climb to Diamond without playing around team comps.

We see you. We know what's going to happen when you claim you're going to carry the game. Yes we are still looking at you when you're 2/7 going into mid game where team fighting happens.
I'm not against those champions playing top, but when your team needs a tank, top lane is looked to first, then the jungler. I could say the same thing about those "pro" Kha'zix, Rengar, and Shaco players. Don't be selfish this is a team game. Also thanks to damage creep tanks are pretty powerful right now anyways.
In all honesty there needs to be PSA about supports filling out what the team needs. It's not realistic because they are always 3 levels behind everyone unless they're KSing, and they do not build like other lanes. They're support. I'm tired of being in game, and getting asked to be the only tank on the team.
Do not expect your support to solely fill out that AP you're missing or that tankiness you need. They can assist in team composition, but they aren't capable of carrying that on their own. A team full of glass cannons and a Leona is not going to cut it against a competent team who filled out what they were missing. A Karma support on a team full of AD isn't going to be doing enough damage as a traditional AP laner.
Think about these things and save yourself 20 minutes.

If you need a tank and top picks teemo and builds glasscannon, then they shouldn't be raging at "well if support had just picked Braum/Alistar we would've won." If you pick teemo and build liandry's, frozen mallet, and then full tank, I don't care cause you are at least trying to fill the tank role we need and getting items that synergize with your kit too. Granted a Mundo or Garen may be better choices (I don't play top so I don't know who's a good tank/bruiser top), but at least having some damage and health/resistances is better than straight damage.
darkestkhan1 votesIt is frozen mallet and runaan - liandry is not needed. You just spread slows and dmg (that 50 from e passive + crit every 3rd attack, it does hurt a bit). After that ... it is whatever is needed. But when my teemo with 5 (!) offensive items is still tankier than xin then something is wrong.

Especially if its a noob without any support skills, who is just picking Veigar support because they think its op.

If she snowballs the toplane and is dominating and you lose because your ass gets caught or you lose a teamfight that you shouldn't of done then that's your fault not akali's. maybe in that situation your team should realize that you don't have a teamfight comp and should try something like a 1-3-1 or a 1-4 split late game. and focus on rotating and objectives rather than fighting fair 5v5 or 4v4 fights
