Not really no. His CC is unreliable and not sufficient. A team should have at least 3 champions with easy to land, strong, hard CC.
For example. If your ADC is Kog, your support Soraka, your top picked Garen and your jungle is Rengar. Yas is a terrible pick, get somebody with CC and some MAGIC DAMAGE. Syndra, Annie, Orianna, Lux, even Ahri, anything.
Now if your ADC is Ashe and your support is Leona. You can go Yasuo mid without much trouble. Since your team at this point already has some reeeeaaally strong CC on two roles, and two more to picks to go. Plus Leona's Sunlight is magic damage, as is Ashe's ult.

Not sufficient CC to win team fights if Darius and Rengar are perma CC'd by a Nautilus and Sona. So your ADC can destroy them.
