Riot, I swear to god, you can't reach a medium.

Everyone was freaking out when the juggernaut update came, juggernauts became insanely strong. So, Riot's logic was, "A few months later, we'll buff ADCs to balance it out!"

Then, you have this shit. Riot, can you honestly reach a medium where tanks are good, and adcs are good? In all honesty, why the flying fuck do you have an ADC update, and a Juggernaut Update. Wouldn't it make sense to combine the two updates so they can be balanced vs eachother?

Wait, no. Fuck logic.

Tanks are still good, no idea what you're talking about. They just are not the ridiculous overbearing monsters they were in Season 5. They are in a much healthier place. I do not want to play league of noodlefights and useless ADCs again. I quit during the tank meta, it was the worst meta. There is still plenty of room for 1 or 2 tanks in every game and they are able to fill their functions. Teams without them tend to get rekt. They are useful, desirable, and many are still strong.

If you look at the strongest champions in the game right now, we have Rammus, Malphite, Volibear, Nautilus, Amumu, Nasus, Pantheon, and even Mundo seeing huge levels of pick/ban and winrate. Yes, ADCs are a bit overpowered, but they are not managing to completely crowd out tanks and bruisers, and many comps work with them. A bit more balance is needed, but it's not insane.

Tbh, the tank meta was one of the better metas that they've had so far because fights lasted for more than 4 seconds. You had a better chance of winning the fight even if your team didn't initiate it. It was more based on team play and personal skill rather than "Let's blow everything up all at once and not know what's going on."

Also, It's VERY rare that adc's are banned out. The exceptions are Graves and Quinn because they're played top lane. You rarely have bot lane bans (except Soraka).

I would venture to guess this issue has to completely do with Leagus complexity and design coupled with Riots inability to completely test everything and every scenario.

Item advancement is not linear. Every item is available for purchase by (almost) every players at any time assuming they have the gold. So each item is balanced upon its individual performance with each other item of equal price and purpose.

Which means it is impossible for Riot to balance a Tanks "tankiness" late game because they can't lock items to only be available at certain points of the game. Meaning they cant nerf Thornmail because someone could potentially buy it at 15min and thus it would no longer be on par with other items of equal value stats wise.

TL:DR version is since item progression is not linear, it is impossible for Riot to balance champions performance throughout a game because they can not nerf an item around individual champions and what they can potentially do at different champion item levels.

What they could do would be to change a champions ability stat multipliers based on the ability level, but what I just suggested while technically possible would be probably impossible to pull off let alone cost millions of dollars annually just to try to set the system up let alone make corrections for every patch.

I think the issue between ADC and tank is, ADCs absolutely hate having to actually counter build the tank. Cause if they do, they lose dueling power against their opposite number. (who would likely be building crit chance.) Last season, BotRK was insanely strong. It was toned back, but now you also have Giant slayer, and the LW items are focused more at Tanks as well.

But that's two items that the ADC would have to invest in, to be effective against the tank. (And LW is a lot less effective against squishies. Not really a common build item anymore.)

The problem with Tanks I would argue is not ADCs, but everyone else. Practically no one, except the ADC could shred the tank. Making the ADC, a prime target in a fight. (Like they weren't already)

I've also noticed that if either of these extremes are strong, there's no middle ground. If the Hyper tank is strong, You need ADC's to tank shred, leaving no room for a moderate damage Bruiser.
