About Sona Q

Hey guys, I've noticed a lot of talk on the forums about Sona and while I agree she's not exceptionally OP, I do feel like her harass can be a bit overbearing considering you can't really dodge it and it does quite a bit of damage. I was thinking, why don't we have the powerchord do say.... only 20% extra damage and apply a debuff that causes them to take damage when an ally attacks them. Kind of like Kalista's W or Leona's passive. Would that be OP? I feel like that would resolve a lot of the issues players are having being half healthed by just Sona.

Edit: Before you say I'm a butthurt ADC main, keep in mind that Sona is one of my favorite champions in the game and I absolutely love playing her. I'm just giving my opinion on the matter. Though I am indeed slightly biased.

you can't really dodge it

yes you can. it attacks the 2 closest** targets in range. stay behind your minions and it won't hit you.

I feel like the range is a bit too large to do that, as it does prioritize champions after all.

Works when I do it. Don't push the lane if you're that concerned about it.

Not to mention, the Q isn't the only issue. The issue is the Q in conjunction with her powerchord, and often times Spellthief's and Lichbane/Iceborn/sheen which can add up to a rather ridiculous amount of damage. Though I'm not saying we should change the items, just the Powerchord and perhaps we could even nerf the bolt damage and buff the damage allies get from her, how did they say it...snuggle zone? But I feel like that would be going over the edge a bit.

While this is indeed true, many of the champions you've listed either have smaller range or have crucial abilities that can be dodged. I'm not saying she's problematic, I would just like to see her be more...I think the term is interactive?

She does have counterplay...you actually have to counter her play. Sona has like no HP...it called high risk high reward. When you go into to Q someone...as sona you make yourself open to dying against certain bot lane combos. if you touch ANYTHING about the Q combo...it is no longer worth the risk to harass.

If you want to counter sona, just play aggressive early with a leona, thresh or blitz. something hard cc.

It has priority to hit champs over minions

I would love to see Q powerchord be a utility effect rather than the damage effect. I feel like there's currently so much pressure on Sona to always Q powerchord that the W and E effects aren't given space to shine.

If that means Sona's damage output becomes too low, we can buff the powerchord damage to compensate.
