If Season 9 continues as this Preseason is showing, I might as well call it quits
For what this preseason is right now, it just feels awful. Nothing about what the players wanted to be addressed feels like it was taken. Nothing has changed. Turrets I still feel can go down pretty damn quick, even with the plating on, and the amount of gold they give plus First Turret Blood still being a thing just adds more to the snowball effect. In fact, how many people were thinking/wanting turret plating to actually just be a second health bar over the original, instead of just acting as the one and only health bar throughout the first 14 minutes and any damage it took carries over to it's weaker form? I sure as hell thought so!
What about runes? Does the new ability to choose your bonus stats make things better there? Not really when there are only a handful of runes that are worth picking. Those being the raw damage boosts (which stack), the attack speed upgrade, or the armor and MR runes that barely give what they did in their former selfs unless you pick the same one twice. The bonus health is too damn tiny and doesn't scale well at all and the CDR is the same, getting your max by level 18, which is a miracle if you can make it there since games still feel like stomps half of the time. The only time you'd take the CDR is for combination of the Trancendence rune to get that little extra damage off. Health is just worthless.
Oh, and how can we forget about the reworked Dark Harvest? Yeah, now instead of farming up souls over the game to get that glorious massive damage, you just need to hit an enemy at half health, either wait a period of time to get it back or better yet kill someone to instantly get it back and become a menace by the mid game, which at that point you're already winning or losing.
So, to recap: turrets only feel tankier and last longer if you're lucky and grant insane amounts of gold if you take them down before 14 minutes, rune bonuses are lackluster and the reworked Dark Harvest is stupid, and combining this overall with the feeling that damage still feels too high.
...I want to like League again. Fucking dammit, I want to like League again! I want to play the champs I love without having to feel punished for picking them because I'm not making the big play maker/super high damage and mobility champs. I want to play tanks for the feeling of providing CC and being a wall in teamfights and not just be these semi-meatier damage Juggernauts. I want to feel like games aren't decided in the first 10 minutes of the game where the enemy snowballs and I can't leave for another 10+ minutes because my team still thinks it winnable, while I'm just becoming more and more miserable and demoralized in both this match and the game as a whole. I just hate what this game has become nowadays. And with my friend deciding to finally try the game out, I don't know whether I should stay and help him through this cesspool or just tell him to jump ship with me cause this isn't worth it anymore.
