Players being toxic over clarity summ

So me and my good friend duoed in norms and in one game he went varus adc. He chose ignite and clarity. Immediately he gets backlash from Anivia..she said "wow even your mother knows you're trash" along with everyone saying "WHY NO HEAL"

Players have complained about no summoner spell diversity, but the moment my buddy picks clarity, everyone assumes he's trash noob. wtf??

My buddy and I carried the game racking up 13 kills each. Anivia and Yi were still toxic.

What's even sadder is that they didn't say anything about me picking Tryndamere support....

clarity incited more toxicity than...Tryndamere support.

Tryndamere support. smh.

They were toxic. That's what they do. They wear asses on their heads because they're asshats.

Clarity is literally worthless after level 5-6. It needs to have a second affect to be worthwhile after that. Maybe something like bonus MR or something.

Whenever anyone picks clarity, I just say "if our love's insanity, why are you my clarity?"

But real talk not taking flash on varus is very ill-advised, even if it did end up working out for you, and taking clarity in a duo lane with a manaless champion is equally inefficient.

I'll never be toxic over someone's summoner spell picks, but you at least need to recognize that some spells are strictly better than others in most scenarios.

Clarity is "bad" and will always be "bad" until Riot changes it. Note the difference between "bad" and bad. It's actually decent on some mana-heavy champions (like Varus).

Yeah, he just likes what he can do with clarity, which is fine. He saved his ass whenever he ran out mana and it worked in his favor. It benefited Anivia too a couple times. He used the poke strategy and I used the Tryn factor. I do agree with better spells, but it was normals and we were playing to win anyway.

So really there is nothing to get toxic over just because (God forbid) a player did something not commonly done.
