Riot still plans on reworking Aatrox. Right?

I've tried to continue playing Aatrox but it's just not worth the trouble. Riot mentioned a few months back that the changes they made to Aatrox were only temporary until they could give him a rework but I want to get confirmation that this is still true from a Rioter. It wouldn't be the first time that Riot said they were going to rework a champion and never did. Aatrox still feels like garbage even after all these years and I don't see any point in playing him. I used to just play him because I thought he looked neat and I wanted to play as a drain tank, but all that ever happens with Aatrox (even when built like a drain tank) is that I dive in, explode to 0 HP, revive, and get one auto attack off if I am lucky before exploding again. His kit doesn't even make sense thematically (this has been brought up dozens upon dozens of times on these forums). He's supposed to be a leader that seems to use some sort of magic to inspire warriors to fight beyond their normal limits, and yet nothing in his kit helps his allies in any way.

I'm sure some folks will look at my match history and just say I'm bad, and that's fine if you feel that way. But I know I'm not alone when I say that Aatrox has felt 'off' since he first came out and that never changed.
