Can we give riven the urgot treatment?

Urgot's damage is the same, but his sustain is so drastically cut that he isn't seen as much anymore. Can we have the same with riven? Same damage but lower shield ratios? That way even if she does the same combo, if she slips up slightly it can be punished a bit harshly. Right now, if someone tries to punish riven's dash, it usually gets shielded off. This won't fix all her problems, but a start might be nice

Correct, she isn't OP. However, before calling others noobs, consider the positions. You've played riven 74 times, so you should notice many of her weaknesses. However, you should also notice her many strengths. If you're in a statistically losing lane, then you have the option to go for a few cs, and avoid punish with your shield and dash. Get ahead, and that same escape now becomes a strong engage tool every 5 seconds. Taking away her sustain on this shield at least forces her to be a bit more safer, or make the plays riven does more remarkable. All in all, if you're good with riven, this change shouldn't impact your zoning potential, but rather punishes those who mistime on riven, and rely on her over-tuned shields.

And seeing your current winrate and your language when speaking on this subject? I would assume you fall into the latter category.

winrate is not determined buy ur own play u muppet u know how many afks i get a game or trools

If there's a "troll" in enough games where you use it as a viable excuse on poor winrate, maybe that's just a game where you don't perform well, and not everyone caters to your own wellbeing (Ex: losing top, but the jungler is only botlane)

Furthermore, this is a thing about riven, and you didn't deny anything I stated except winrate, leaving me to believe you find my statements correct. If such, that leads me to believe you can't carry 4v5, which is odd, as a strong riven can do such very easily by filling in the roles of engage, burst, and peel.

And to top it all off, upon further inspection of your games, it reveals you either do really good or really poorly, leaving me to believe you play extremely aggressively. Is that why you scowl so harshly at a mere suggestion, because you'll have to actually be passive in a game?

How so? I fought riven multiple times, and I noticed her strengths and weaknesses. She has strong engage, decent execution and burst, and tremendous mobility. Like fizz, if she chooses to go all in, she looses her escape...except with newer items, she can now have multiple dashes in skirmishes. While I wish damage creep to be lowered, I doubt it'll happen any time soon, as that would completely be overkill to many champions who depend on that threat of damage (renekton, camille, riven, yasuo, irelia, etc). Take away the damage they become meatshields, or cc bots.

At least by taking away some of the sustain in her shield, riven has to optimize her build. If she goes raw damage, then she has more punish room for after her combo. If she builds a bit of health/resistances, she doesn't have as much immediate burst.

Instead of just laughing and mocking, have you ever thought of actually thinking? Of course not. You're an unranked adc main who doesn't do sustained fights against riven, the same type of player to critique top lane after riven get's fed, but does nothing when riven isn't fed.

Oh ya lets cut her shield by 50% and ad 1s to all of her abilities and make her stun only work on 1 target at a time and that target cant be stunned again by her or knocked up for the next 8s and lower the passive bonus damage to 2 stacks that do 50% damage

They should halve Riven's shield and then double it back to normal only when dashing towards an enemy champion. I mean, it's called "Valor" yea? So why is she fully rewarded for using it to run away?

U wouldn't be able to use it to dodge skillshots then

Why would she need to dodge them if she has a (very large) shield? The idea should be for her to "dodge" into the attack. Hence "Valor".

I think the Urgot nerf took the wrong route with him and this would be wrong fix for Riven. In the current state of the game, we should be nerfing damage, not survivability. But on the other hand, Riven's shield is AD scaling, so it's more similar to lifesteal in a way than traditional defense, so I guess it wouldn't be as bad as the Urgot nerf.

No, we should treat the problem with Riven, while simultaneously treating the problems of others like Jax and of those who have to face them, and do something about Shojin.

Darius has many things going for him, which is why I like him. He has great damage, sustains, zoning, scaling threat, and a really scary presence if not dealt with during fights. However, he's right next to illaoi and mordekaiser in terms of kite susceptibility. Properly kiting him or cc chaining him renders him nearly useless. However, champions who orb walk, like say riven, might find it more difficult to face darius.

Correct, I am a darius main, and I stand at a nice winrate with him, IMO. I know his strengths and weaknesses, and his few weaknesses render him so useless in many cases that he isn't seen much the higher you climb. RIven is seen however, because her weakneses are nullified by her strengths. I would assume you know this, as you have 74 riven games under your belt. Playing safer would make this suggestion of nerfing her shield useless, but seeing the 49% winrate you have on her, I would assume you play more aggressive.

Some things to note about darius: *While he does have true damage, his rank 1 ultimate isn't a reliable damage source, so many trades with other champions actually turn out poorly for darius if he keeps going ham. level 11 is when his true damage really matters. Play darius a bit, you'll see what I mean.

*If the enemy ranged, be it mid or ADC, gets fed, darius can do jack about it if the enemy is smart.

*Darius's sustain has a delay, and can be flashed out of, or dashed out of. It's honestly mainly useful when the enemy huddles around darius.

*Darius has some of the lowest attack speed in the game. Even if darius animation cancels and does a perfect combo, he will get 4 stacks maximum. If the enemy walks away, Darius really can't do much about that.

*Darius has mana, and honestly, this mana pool runs out fast if not managed responsibly. The more aggressive darius gets in lane, the sooner he has to leave, in risk of the jungler.

The only reason I see you might have to complain about darius is if you struggled against him. Which is strange, because statistically, riven vs darius is a pretty solid skill matchup, though favored on darius, I have lost a few times against really skilled rivens. If you're amazing with riven (though your WR suggests otherwise), why complain?

Sure, let's half the scaling and the base strength on her E, and get it down to an increase her Q cooldown (between uses) by 1 second, and then see where she's at when she can't instantly unload all of her Q's and three animation cancelled AAs to instantly proc conqueror from 0 stacks while melting your face off in AoE and AoE CCing you and anything else nearby.

Y'know, even cutting her base shield in half from 95 to 47.5, her base shield at rank 1 is still 58.33% stronger than Urgots, while on only 58.8% the cooldown.

In other words, even with cutting Riven's shield in fucking half, Urgot would still have a 70% longer cooldown to block only 63% as much damage as Rivens, while hers is resourceless, and gives her a stack of her passive and extra damage. Not to mention it scales 1:1 with AD she gains from any source, including the 20% AD steroid on her ult. She buys a BF that shield increases by 40, she ults, its increased by over 50 (because of course she'll have AD from runes, and at least 10 from the flat stat shards, let alone any other items) and of course, AD is her primary stat and every item or rune she'll take will increase her AD.

so you want to make Riven a garbage tier champion? since that is what a change like this would do

dontspinbutwin1 votes

By cutting her sustain? How so? The same happened with Yasuo, and he generates less flow than before, still is quite viable. Darius lost much of his heal on his Q, still sits at a decent playrate and winrate. On the subject of hard nerfs, lets keep talking. Hail of blades was bugfixed on jhin, dramatically cutting his damage. Irelia lost a whole bunch of tools, and is still complained about Even with buffs, certain champions still aren't untouchable, like nasus. Nasus got harshly buffed with his ult Q, yet he still is extremely susceptible to kiting.

What I'm trying to get at is that a champion getting nerfed or buffed doesn't mean they become useless or overpowered, but rather their playstyle gets changed. When Aatrox got nerfed, he was forced to be more passive in lane, or go all in. When Irelia got nerfed, she had to be more selective on when to go in or when to use skills When Yasuo's Q cooldown got nerfed, he had to be more aggressive to compensate. When Nasus got buffed, he could play more aggressive post level 6. When Camille lost her stun on minions, she had to be more selective on early ganks. Depending on the change on the champion, the playstyle changes.

Here, the change would simply make Riven be more cautious when she would go in. Her cooldowns are the same, and her damage is the same. The only change is how she plays. If a player mechanically dances with riven, results are the same. If a player fumbles, they get punished. Arguing that this change would make her garbage is simply reflective on the player's skill with the champion, as opposed to the champion itself.
