three reasons league will never be a legitimate competitive scene in NA with current systems.

this is not to say that riot esports NA will never be taken seriously, but riot has let their ideas of what might happen make a joke of their goals.

A) riot doesn't embrace helping the players bettering their play by assisting players with an environment where they can practice small skills.

  • why? because, good soccer players didn't get there just by playing soccer, they practiced and drilled their small skills. dribbling isn't something soccer players practice in game. so why doesn't riot give an environment for player growth, similar to a practice feild, a 100 minion simulator? a skillshot dodgeball minigame? small important basic mechanic helpers?

B) riot is a poorly designed low elo ranked concept. -a large portion of low elo ranked players don't ever hope to get diamond, all they play is for the skin, and when they feel like they aren't going to get it, they don't take ranked seriously, because in NA, video games are a hobby, i want to have a shiny badge on my profile, but i play the game because i want to have fun. -the logic behind placements is dumb, why should anyone start at anywhere except the bottom, it should be the standard. workers start at the bottom of the totem pole, or they take specialty classes to have a job not at the bottom, they don't just jump levels with no exp, and no people apprising their skills seriously before they do.

C) separation of casual and serious players. this is a serious problem, someone that has every champion unlocked, 20 rune and mastery pages setup and ready, goes in ready, whille they are matched with people fresh to 30, still wet behind the ears and just bought their 16'th champ.

you want a serious ranked enviroment but the minimal requirement for a ranked system to be legitimate in anything is to have an even base of resources, the guy with more time in the game, more rune pages, and every champ unlocked, is at a major advantage, they have every possible counter they can play available, with runes and masteries to play it. but then they have the guy with 2 chars unlocked in every role, and if his gets banned, he's sol.

there are problems with riot, im not expecting them to be saints, they're humans too, but serious overhaul's to the way riot approaches ranked.

ranked in games should be a place meant for people with an adept's level of skill should be the minimal, not an apprentice's.\

discuss.

all i can say to you is: read your own post and assume that in reality, everything is the exact opposite of what you wrote there and then try to accept it.

"B) riot is a poorly designed low elo ranked concept." Get good and you will not have to worry about low elo. [slayer-jinx-wink]

I'll agree with A some what, We really do need more options in custom games or a training mode where we can practice last hitting, or dodging skill shots, or testing out a build etc. Sure you could technically do all of that in a custom game but it takes so much more time, the bots are very terrible and would never do what you'd want to allow you to practice stuff.

Not everyone has friends who are patient, or cares enough to do a lot of custom games with so you could practice stuff in league. Also a mode to allow people to test out champions before they want to buy it wouldn't hurt either...Since some champions are never really appear on the free week, it would be nice to allow new players to try out a champion before they buy them.
