Not That i'm Trying to Buff Kai'Sa but...

Why doesn't the AD/AP from runes, and the attack speed from Legend:Alacrity, count towards the evolution of her abilities??? They are permanent stats as well as bonus values, not base, so it should count towards her abilities.

Just a question out of pure curiosity.

I was fairly certain it only does not count the bonus you get from from the trees, ie the bonus attack speed for going into precision, bonus AD/AP from domination and sorcery.

yeah it doesn't. I'm just wondering why. As they are bonus, permanent stats. If you go Precision/Sorcery, which is the general set up for kai'sa, you get neither the ad nor the attack speed bonus.

It would restrict her rune choices because you would have to optimize runes to activate her first evolve as efficiently as possible. It would be the difference between evolving at 1 item and evolving at 1 item + 1 extra 300~400g component. That would be such a huge deal that it would warp your rune choices completely around which evolve you're taking first.

mmmm not really. If Kai went Precision-Inspiration and just went flat attack speed, she'd be missing out on gathering storm and celerity. My point is, there are notable trade-offs if she decided to go that route. I can't see that being a big enough reason to not count those as bonuses.

If your strategy is to evolve E first you are pretty much forced into Precision/Inspiration.

If your strategy is to evolve Q or W first you're punished for taking Precision at all.

Do you not see the problem there?

not really. I see those as good trade-offs as you get to choose whether you want damage or kite more at earlier stages of the game.

I should point out that one of the main reason kai is so strong, is because of the rageblade, deaths dance, nashor build which allows her to get all her evolutions at 3 items. The standard adc build on the other hand pigeon holes you into going pd and berskers, and even then you have to be lvl 14 to get the evolution on her e. If you were to go for rfc or statik, you'd be required to build another attack speed item to get your e evolution, which then denies you ga, a lifesteal item, or a pen item depending on the situation.

Eventually, rageblade will be nerfed and/or the way kaisa abuses the interaction between that, nashors, and deathdance. If you were allowed the 8 percent attack speed the standard build gives, Kai'sa could get by with the standard ad build and wouldn't be so dependent on rb, dd, and nash, of course this is only assuming they are nerfed bc right now it would be too much of a buff with the current iteration of rageblade

I figured it was because she gets way more out of runes if she can evolve off of them.

the present iteration of kai'sa, with her buffs and all. As well as how synergistic she is with rb, dd, and nashors, probably does. But, the release Kai'sa would probably have been relatively balanced if she had access to runes for stats as she could get her evolutions easier. The original kaisa build made it so that you had to go berskers and pd just to get the e evolution and wait till lvl 14 or delve into 2 attack speed items, but if you did this, you were down a very important item, whether that be pen, lifesteal, or a ga.
