MR and armor are irelevant. Armor and Mr only have good influence in early game from runes and as first buy Try laning against zed with and without Armor runes.. difference is insane

What you want nowdays is dmg reduction / windwall / trickster / zhonya / invulnerability like abilities

Or you want your champion to be good with stoneplate (J4, Cho)

Last Trundle I saw was like 2 months ago. He also has a pretty weak winrate last I checked. He just seems really off for a champion that should be doing better.
