Next Preseason changes. Damage(burst), Variety and, Jgl(early impact)
Hey guys, as Meddler said that he would like to hear some thoughts on the next preseason, i just want to share what I think should be changed.
- Overall dmg, especially burst.
Before i write down my thoughts about this, I want to say that I started at the end of S1 and stopped playing league pretty much directly after the Fiora rework(just hated that I lost the old one). Because of friend i, came back to league at the end of S7.
The first thing i noticed was that I would get bursted down by nearly every champion, in a way I didn't really experienced before. And over the time in S8 it just got worse and worse. But why is that so? Beside the constant powercreep which is natural but needs to be adressed, the runes reforged completely forgot the defensive options for non tanks or they got nerfed(bone plating) the offensive options are just way stronger than the defensive ones. Also like meddler said, alot of the dmg i frontloaded and that especially for assasines(electro, duskblade and now stormrazor. Items in general are stronger than they used to be.
Solution?
Reduce rune dmg, reduce item frontload dmg(e.g. hard reduce ludens dmg and reduce loading time)
Bring back old rune flexibilty. What do I mean with that? Take away the flat bonuses rune choices give instead add a third tree for stats, so you can take Domination for example and also some armor/mr, hp, ad, ap, ms, gp10, cd, lifesteal etc. That way you can also adapt to your needs and allow more variety in champion builds and positions. I just realized I am already at point 2.
Besides rune changes, i would love to see a big overall nerf patch towards dmg. Instead of mainly changing the map or Items in preseason.
Make dmg nerfs to kinda every champion, not huge but just to tune it down where e.g. only a full zed combo can oneshot a squishy target if it is even in, items. Also shouldnt be able to oneshot tanky dudes even if 1Item ahead. (Before someone asks, yes i hate zed. But tbf imo stopwatch should be removed, as it just f***s up champs with that needed all indie at lvl6, just seems dumb to me. Instead buff the armor of zhonyas.)
- Variety (stuff about runes said before)
As i just said, allowing more Rune diversity and adjustment would greatly help to bring more variety. Not just in the botlane but, also in every other lane.
- Jgl early impact
As a Toplane main I rly didn't like the jgl chamges back when grompvwas introduced. Longer respawn timer and easier and faster clears. I don't have anything against lvl 2 cheese ganks but in general especially toplane should be more of a 1v1 the first 5 Minutes unless one is hard pushing under turret(e.g. teemo, quinn) who can be ganked easily. Also junglers tend to snowball very hard thus dominating the game of they get one or two early kills.
Solution?
Reduce jgl respawn timer, increase clear time by increasing hp/resistance of monsters(also most junglers should be fairly low after the first buff(especially if they do it solo(counter jgl))) if that hits somewie champs too hard(e.g. mumu, rammus) compensate buffs vs monsters or nerf jgl dmg overall.
Maybe a solution to reduce impact for jungler of getting early kills(rengo as a kill focused jgl getting trophy buff as compensation e.g.).
Setting behind the enemy laner by loosing exp and gold on minions should be rewarding enough for ganks to be worth. A jgl shouldnt be able to 1v1 a laner until midgame unless he is super fed imo. He sacrifices that ability in favor of mobility and flexibility.
