Galio rework feedback

First thoughts. I think the rework is pretty cool. the ideas that went into the rework are pretty amazing, but sadly when playing him its not the same. This is just my views of galio rework so far. Still playing him, but here are a few things I have notice about his game play. First His E is to easy to dodge. The animation is long, and to easy to see coming. His W wind up is way too long. Flash is a requirement for him to use his W right now at this point. The taunt should have been put on his ult really. After all the ult is meant to take all the beating away from the alley. His Q is the best ability right now. His passive I feel is fine. Nothing really to point out about that right now. His Ult wind up is slow as well. So you really really have to time it right when clicking it. Otherwise its a big fail. That's really it for right now, and those are the things I have notice when playing him. Where his role is best right now. I would say support. Why? Because of how slow his abilities are. They are better served bot lane and better used to wait for players to start the fight rather then starting the fights first. [slayer-pantheon-popcorn] Cool champ. Just needs some adjustments really.

I'm really sad they ditched his ult. They've usually tried to keep a semblance of what that champion meant to his mains, IE the malz ult (even though I feel they butchered Malz as well). I played a bit of Galio and always enjoyed him, but I enjoyed him because of his ult. This entire rework kit could have been a brand new champion. I want the massive AOE taunt/burst. It was such a high point. Now, he's fun, but lacks the high point of old Galio. I really, really wish they had kept his ult. O, and his skin SUCKS now. He looks like a cross between a 70s transformer, and a Gundam Wing.

Just one thing I thought of is: What if you could prep your W during your ult? that way you could pop it the moment you touch down.

That would be cool too. In the end. I feel its how easy it is to dodge abilities that hurt him the most. I say that because he is a melee champ. He has to get close. So he's already in the dangerzone. So if he misses he is 100% food for the enemy If he was a range champ then players dodging the abilities would be fine.

The champ balance teams have really been dropping the ball lately. Most recently with Aatrox's buffs that turned out to be sideways nerfs, ChoGaths lazy buff that doesn't address his kit simply not being functional in a increasingly mobile meta. Now with this Galio rework.

New Galio is a "All -in" style tank....that has NO mitigation, NO self sustain, and NO hard CC lockdown to keep himself alive with. No champion has ever worked with this formula, and no champion ever will work with that formula. He's fun to play, and his only pro is waveclear. He is a champion that has absolutely no impact on the game and simply flows with whether his team is winning or losing. Inorder for him to be a competitive champion, he needs his old shield of Durand worked into his current shield of Durand. He needs self sustain, or he is just food anytime he goes in.(unless your team is winning handily). the way his playstyle is, his most similar champ is Leona. The difference is, Leona has repetitive stuns and mitigation on her W to keep herself alive with. Even with that taken into account people still don't play her as a top lane champion because she lacks self sustain or an escape. Galio will fall into this same problem when his shininess wears off. He will end up being a below average support champ if changes are not made.

What I would suggest. Nerf his Q- he has too much damage here and doesn't need to be doing a lot of damage. Buff his W- Leave it as is, add old shield of Durand on top of it. Damage he takes, heals him by X amount scaling with MR,AP, or Health idc which. Reduce the cooldown on his ult at all ranks by 20seconds.
