Master Yi in season 10

Master Yi has always been complained about in league of legends, being too OP and not having enough counterplay. I am an avid player with this opinion, but I like to see all sides before I really make a judgement on Yi.

So over the past couple days I played almost nothing but Master Yi and practiced him, even getting M7 with him in the process! SO with this clear mindset on the champ and clarity heres what I have to say on him with the new season and everything.

Pros

  • You're a monster late
  • You can stack conqueror easily
  • Your W meditate bug is op as fuck
  • Your incredibly Mobile

Cons -You suck early and must full clear

  • If you fall behind in any way you can get left in the dust if the enemy is good enough to secure drags -CC can lock you down

VERDICT Yi this season is not as strong as last season IMO. Last years conqueror can be attributed to that because Tanks can actually survive your damage relatively well, that's not to say however he isn't strong, in the right hands with enough drags and 1 item(Rush rageblade) you can wipe everyone up very easily. But like always if the team has a cc machine like Leona or Skarner, you might auto lose regardless of how good you can get with your timing(Yes qss is a thing and maybe it works but I digress).

He didn't take Conqueror in season 9 and the new Conqueror is much better for him, though I don't know if it outclasses LT.

Hail of Blades + E pre 6 nigh completely mitigates his early game weaknesses in regards to dueling if you ask me. He still gets bodied hard if enemy team groups on him, but Hail of Blades protects you from getting 1v1'd in the jungle

I honestly think Yi was never OP, not above gold anyway. Today, with junglers having to duel, gank and force objectives from the first clear I see him as little above trash tier. By the time he gets 2 items the game is over and the opposing jungler is 2 levels ahead.

I completely disagree with this, master yi is honestly I think one of THE BEST junglers in this preseason hands down and I can provide answers to show it. From playing there are 2 types of junglers that dominate the meta right now. Early game gankers "Lee, Ekko, Elise, Shaco" and really good fast clear objective takers "Olaf, Yi, WW". A lot of these champs are early game champs with master Yi being a huge exception. The new conq plus the insane clear speeds makes yi an absolute menace on 1 item I completely agree he can't gank at all pre 6 and even after he just runs at you the problem with yi destroying is the XP nerf plus his insane clear speeds. The early ganking junglers can hardly keep up because 1 gank leads to yi just clearing their entire jungle and you lose SO MUCH XP when that happens it's like you got a kill to give yi a kill. The dragon HP nerf let's him take your farm and clear it level 4 and when yi falls behind it doesn't matter anyway because on 2 items he will just mow you down with true damage and conq life steal anyway. I've been abusing him like crazy and some games I just go 2 and 7 but it doesn't matter because my clears and objective control are so disgusting that I take dragon in 2 seconds with R anyway. If I even get a slight lead it feels like the game is over even his META counters "Elise, Jax, Shaco and Ekko" to name a few they can't shut you down long enough until they make 1 mistake and you just clear any of the XP anyway. His 1 tricks are stomping and he is the one of or if not the highest WR jg in most elo's even in dia+ tbh if you want freelo just pick Yi he's either being perma banned or first picked now in every game I have played so far 12/2 2/12? Does not matter all succumb to Yi eventually he has the pressure of early game objective takers while being a ticking time bomb just don't gank it's a waste of time.
