How do I turn my winning lane into a winning game?

Hello, I am a Gold 2 Support/Mid main. I'm having some problems translating my own lane lead into a winning game. I would like to focus on my support play for right now. I'd say I win lane as support around 7/10 times. Unfortunately, It seems that no matter how hard I win my lane, my carry and I simply can't...well CARRY our team. We always get stomped in teamfights (and quite frankly, other lanes feed pretty often @toplane). For example, my last lane we had a pretty decisive lead, with my Vayne being pretty ahead of their Jhin in both CS and kills. But when it came to teamfighting, we were getting absolutely fucked. It just seems that no matter how well I do in the bot lane, teamfights just go to shit.

Advice?

after you take first turret and drag rotate mid/top and gain priority of rift herald. Thats pretty much when the game is decided

Yeah I think that may be one of my issues. My carry seems pretty intent on just keeping enemy tower up as long as possible to stomp. I'll try to shotcall a little bit more. Thanks for the input. Like last game the tower was literally one shot but my carry wanted to freeze for like 3 mins. Snowball opportunity lost right there.

yeah that adc was delusional theres a lot more to do on the map than freeze. If anything you can push the wave and establish better vision on bot side of the map since enemy adc has to tend to bot wave

A large portion of it is roaming your advantage to other lanes before they get annihilated. If both your solo lanes lose it's a good chance you lose the game.

My thing as support is I wait for the enemy bot lane to back, we score a kill without a huge mana cost to myself, or we're in a situation where it's very unlikely my ADC dies if I leave. Then I'll run mid hopefully with the jungler and double gank mid lane, invade jungle, maybe make it as far as top lane. Don't auto default to stapling yourself to your ADC, when you back consider going straight to another lane even if only to give them room to breathe and farm.

Another thing is reexamining your champion pool for support, in my opinion it's pretty important to stick near the meta as far as supports go. Off meta stuff works, but following the meta in support often leads to a relatively easy lane, and then it's typically easier to impact the game itself. An example is that right now Taric is completely busted following his buffs, all coin users are quite strong, and Thresh is currently crazy good as well. I recommend Thresh over a lot of other supports as while he has a learning curve, you can have massive impact on the game as he's capable of engaging, disengaging, catching people who are out of position, and saving caught out teammates.

I run into this top lane a ton. Ill win but mid, bot or the jungler is feeding and because Im always fighting a top laner it takes me time to take turret.
If I roam (to bot most of the time for dragon or what not) my enemy top laner will take my turret with the jungler and unless its Infernal Drake to me that is not worth it.

By the time I get my turret the other lanes have fed someone on their team and unlike top lane has sharded assists around to the others.

Makes it really hard to win.

Out of all the topics I've been seeing on these boards lately this is probably one of the best questions.

As a mid laner what you can do is learn how to roam and help your team where needed. In order to do that however you will have to evaluate the situation in every game differently and come up with the best place to be at an y given time. Pretty much, after you hit level 6 and your ult is up you can do something like : wave clear, gank or objective, wave clear, etc.

As a support you can make sure that your adc gets as much as possible, when you are ahead that is probably the case but after that make sure you stay with your support so they can team fight as well as they can. Also try to get your adc to follow you and setup fights for them to get fed or take objectives. If they don't, be there to protect them and try to get your team to collapse on an objective towards your adc.

It's really challenging most of the time to get people in solo q to do something or to follow a good call. You just have to know what you are doing in terms of taking objectives and apply pressure on the map and keep at it. They will listen if they see it's winning them the game even if they dont in the beginning. Of course you wont win all the games you have an advantage because people mess up sometimes and it might cost you the game. It's only natural.

If you're supporting, bot lane should always try take tower first since you want ADC to win lane. Always. Get that first tower.

If that's not working, try roaming. As support you can usually roam after your first back. I personally don't go that hard when I'm filled supp (because I'm filled). However, your impact on the map as support is massive since you're often a walking CC chain. If you see a vulnerable mid laner, set up wards, tell your AD to play safe, then try pick up a kill mid. If your presence can get you a tower, that's more map coverage you can get.

Think of how you can win fights and then use that knowledge to take other stuff on the map.

After laning, it's all about the macro game and shot-calling. You need to know what is a good idea and what isn't; buy the right items for the right situations etc.

btw, what kind of supports do you play? (just helpful information)

You play a tank. Silly girly supports like Nami and Janna are useless. Whichever team has more tanks wins, every game.
