Minor changes to ARAM I would like to see

of course unlock all champions... it will kill aram only accounts

BUT also give a choice of 3 random champions to play... so randomly select 3 and you get to pick from those... which i think would be good since there is what 130+ champions? it will give you just a touch of control allowing you to maybe avoid a champion you despise(which re-roll wouldn't be able to really do,at least in any contestant fashion, if all champions were unlock)

then make rerolls either 3 new c mhampions which would mean a cycle of at most 9 random champions... or you get to reroll 1 champion out of the 3 so a maximum cycle of 5 champions...or just totally remove reroll(but i wouldn't really like that)

it is still random you have no control over what champions you get it just provides a little bit better chances of not getting stuck on a champion you hate or is just horrendous on aram... and it makes the game more fair by putting everyone on the same playing field

Don't like choose 3. The point of ARAM is to get things you'd never play and deal with it. The fact they let people trade is enough, in my opinion.

Perhaps, but then may we could get more rrs more often. I think that would also cut down on people dodging the game right before start.

i think the choose 3 is good because the huge number of champions... it is still random and your still stuck with those 3...but it gives a bit of a pick your poison situation and you can avoid champions you dread playing preventing you from playing a 20-30 minute game you hate start to finish

If they let you choose from three they would likely eliminate rerolls period. The point of the reroll is to give the opportunity to play someone else if you absolutely do not want to play the champion you rolled. Allowing you to pick from 3 eliminates that issue. Yes you may get 3 terrible champs...but there have been plenty of times were I used 2 RRs in a row and still got terrible champs.

Rather than unlocking all champions (which is a terrible idea imo. I don't want to play champs I didn't buy and have no skill with), just make the number or rerolls scale dramatically with number of owned champions. Like if you own the minimum number of champs, you get basically no rerolls and can only store 1. but if you have all champs you get 2 per game and can hold up to 4.

that isnt a bad idea... aram only accounts stay while regular accounts get the benefit of more rerolls...however i still like my idea more I like the idea of getting any champion since it's all random all mid

This doesn't address the problem of games not being random enough that people have. The point of the game mode is supposed to be randomness and playing outside your comfort zone for fun. It isn't supposed to be another pseudo ranked gamemode.

you can at the absolute max have 9 different champion options or 7ish% of the champion pool and that is if you have 2 rerolls and use both....

otherwise you have access to about 2ish% of the champion pool(chosen at random)... just like current aram you're forced to play outside of your comfort zone(assuming you dont get lucky on the draw) but you have just a touch of control to avoid champions you dread or champs like jax that are horrendous on aram

As long as Aram only accounts exist it won't matter how many picks you give people. Many people, myself included, want truely random team matchups. Champs like jax don't do well because they consistantly forced to play against team comps that are comprised of aram only selections that he is paired badly against. If everything was truely random he would be a heck of a lot more viable in some games.

that's why I said they need unlock all champions in aram... all accounts will have all champions open in aram no matter what (no way around it)...thus killing aram only accounts... then having the 3 champions is to compensate for the fact that there are 130+ champion in the game and the 3 offers a little bit of a choice while maintaining the random of aram(since the 3 are randomly select and 3 champions are a minuscule percentage of champions)

Does anyone think splitting ARAM into two modes could be a good solution to the dodging, ARAM accounts, and being forced to play unwanted champions?

My idea is that one mode is All Random, it's on Summoner's Rift and has all champion in the random pool since those two changes would go well together (so getting Jax isn't a death sentence and the team with more range doesn't always win). The second mode is All Mid which is on Howling Abyss and has a normal draft pick opposed to random blind pick (this mode would be for the people who want to play on a linear fast-paced mode but don't want to play Jax at all).

It seems to fix the issues I see people mention frequently on the forums, the only potential new issue being that it's two separate queues dividing the playerbase... but with how fast ARAM queues are I don't think this would be a problem. Let me know your guys' opinions.

That'd absolutely kill ARAM for me. Laning phase, which is a significant portion of SR, is boring and tedious, and AR on SR wouldn't do much to change that. On the other hand, AM on HA would quickly become stale and tedious because the lack of balance updates means the same champs would show up over and over and over.

Neither option sounds appealing at all.

I disagree that there wouldn't be any variety. When Poro King was last active (basically ARAM with draft mode) I saw people pick a bigger variety of champions than I see in norms/ranked. People are more adventurous because they're playing a fun mode and on top of that, the pool of champions that are good/viable in the ARAM environment isn't as small as you'd think. I saw people play supports ranging from Thresh to Nami, I saw people play initiators from Sion to Wukong, I even saw an Aatrox and Riven multiple times because that's what people wanted to play.

And about the opposite mode on SR, I'm not too sure how this would work out because it sounds boring to me as well... it was just the solution that came to mind while trying to retain the random pick element and adding all champions to the random pool but also making playing them not as miserable.

The existence of the Poro King itself makes for dramatically different balance from standard ARAM. The King provides waveclear, sustain, tower-pushing, and even an escape option: things that the weaker ARAM champs tend to lack. Plus, LotPK has the pre-nerf snowball, which further changes things.

all random sr would create issues...like I queue as top/jung but get jinx...adc gets darius... team jinx go adc darius top... jinx i ahte adc imma stay top... shitstrom ensues :P

pretty much people take sr in all facets WAY too seriously, however I think all random on twisted treeline would be quite fun

but a howling abyss with regular champ select IS something I really like the poro king gamemode is one of my favriote rgm's for that reason...but i kinda wouldn't wont it as a constant mode(but as a more frequent rgm)
