IIRC, the first half of season 4 was Renekton vs Shyv every single game, then after that up until earlier this year it was Maokai vs Rumble every game.

Maokai is pretty popular champion. Just because he is overnefed ATM doesn't mean he is a bad choice for victorious skin.

Maokai was a staple champion for 3 years straight, was a monster in top lane for two seasons after, and because of the fucked up meta in top lane during season 6, you don't think he deserves victorious.

While I am very sad that they didnt choose Viktor for obvious reasons (biggest being that he has 2 fucking skins after so many years), I like how they chose Mao and ruined the day for all those cancer champ mains, because they dont deserve to have a skin for champ that ruins game for everyone.
