Rakan weak?

Is it just me or does Rakan feel weak when Xayah is not the ADC. I feel like his Q range is juuust a little short and the heal is not that great. I wish the heal would go up with ranks of his Q but it relies completely on AP, even though you need tank items because using your knockup in a teamfight makes you the first target. Overall, I think he has too much in his kit and instead of making some abilities better than others, they are all weakish. Any thoughts or discussion?

His q is super lame in my opinion. But everything else is a blast, and he seems very strong in all-in trades. But I need to play as/with him more.

I also feel he is a bit weak, without Xayah he feels like a dog on a tight leash. I hate that everything is scaled on ap but half his kit puts him in melee range. So building locket, ruby sightstone, ga, helps him a lot in teamfights but that also means his dmg stays neutral even his passive shield. Not only that his W can be interrupted by any type of cc. Like thresh is a huge counter to Rakan, if you try to W, thresh's flay whether he does it before or after your animation stops the knock up from ever happening so now you are free to punish and scurry back to xayah if you have your shield up. For once in my life I honestly don't know what to max first on a support, usually its obv but maxing Q is pointless if you cant land them either from smart enemies treating you like a blitz and sitting behind minions or the fact that the skillshot is shorter than Leona's E and Braum's Q. Or maxing W could be pointless if you keep getting interrupted before Rakan flies up putting yourself in danger and your adc for thinking you have an easy engage when in fact you can be stopped almost 100% if the enemy team has any type of hard cc. Could max your shield but that's just asking to lose every 2v2. Not to mention he has long cooldowns on his abilities so a kill lane like Leona/Lucian Vayne/Thresh can easily outfight you because you can't keep up in constant skirmishes. And lastly, I hate that he's a short range ranged support? Either make him a range or melee trying to make champions a little bit of both just makes them suck even more like taric being half sona half leona with aoe kayle. I really like Rakan but jesus he can be easily exploited in lane because he has so many deficiencies and most of the time there's no way of coming back since he doesn't have the proper items to make use of his kit.

He's strong even when played poorly from what I've seen lol

The Q range could be increase a little more, everything is pretty good though.

I've beaten every one I played against so far, but I'm only playing norms.

I feel like he's middle of the road, and on the side of weak. It seems he is best suited to build up to buff heal/shield, and even with everything setup for that, his shield and heal are unimpressive. He's geared more toward tanking (since his entire toolkit seems to revolve around initiation), but he can't tank very well. He seems to be punished way more when Xayah is not around, but the same isn't so true for her. He is extremely reliant on the team, and for clustery team fights, he's at a huge disadvantage (as far as his get in and get out playstyle)--and there isn't crap you can do to defend a turret. Even late-game, you can barely kill a minion in under six hits or a few hits and your Q W.

Though he is fun. And his kit can be antagonizing, especially for those 100hp disengages where you double shield an ally to give them that 2nd wind they need to win a fight or at least get away safely. I'd like to see a little more range on the E when Xayah is not around, and a bit better item-scaling with his Q/E. He may or may not need a buff to damage.

I feel exactly the same. The Q is both underwhelming and lacking just the slightest bit of range. I'd like to see either a lower penalty for missing, or a higher reward for landing. I feel like his W was done well if not lacking just a tiny bit if range however its cooldown feels extremely long for a skill that you can't max first. And his E I feel is a real punch to the gut when playing without Xayah. If your partner isn't aware then it often makes what could be a clean getaway into a sacrifice for your adc because he's always juuuuust out of range to dash to them. I'd like to see increased range on E or some special interaction eg: When you've used your first charge on an ally you can dash back to them from the enpowered (Xayah) range.

his cool down times are a bit silly especially his Q which is the only real way he has to keep his adc in lane.
