Garen is The Defensive Juggernaut

Guys i got a fantastic Idea. Everybody are asking for a Steroid Mechanic to make Garen like all others Juggernauts . Do you want know what i think? Why Make Garen like all others when Garen is one of the most Iconic and Unique champions of LoL. Garen is the might of Demacia , he should lead the charge , so why not add to him some Team Utility tools?.

Here we go.

When Garen use his Q , his near allied champions (the range should be low) gain the same amount of Movement speed that Garen gains. In This Way Garen can Lead the charge of his allies and be usefull in lategame to help engage others or to give the allies a way to peel themselves with positioning.

When Garen use W he gain a shield for 1 second . In that 1 second Garen can parry on hisself all the projectiles incoming in his hitbox , like the Braum Shield but Garen will take all the dmg incoming . In this way Garen can be a true frontline and peel for his allies ( maybe it will be played in competitive like toplaner) . Garen is a good-heart man and in the lore he puts other before himself, so this also would be added to his kit and it will make him more unique and more Garen.

The E will shred the enemies armor like now , maybe reduce the number of ticks from 6 to 5 . Remove the Extra ticks from As and add an As Scaling on Ticks Dmg and a lvl Growth of Number of ticks . It should start at 7ticks from lvl 1 and take extra tick at 6,11,16.

The R should do less Flat Pure Dmg anyway , it s an execute , he must work on enemies with less than half life.

The Passive should get a reduced cooldown after lvl11 from 7 to 5 seconds and at lvl 11 be blocked to 8% MaxHP regen .

Yeah , in this Way Garen will be the unique Defensive Juggernaut of the Game and it will be also good from early to late game in a versatile way. Early with his dmg and sustain, Midgame thz to his powerspike and lategame thz his utility and Tankyness. In the While he will result a good New Players Champion and a the same time he will be a great champion to master. Ofc all those changes must be balanced around stats but at the same time Garen finally get some tools to stay a the same lvl like new champions and like other juggernauts but in a different and an exclusive way , The Demacia Way.

Juggernauts are selfish champions with more simple kits. Supportish doesn't fit them imho.

so you want to make him a tank.

because all of your additions just add engage for his team and peel for his teammates.

why can he just not be a carry like the other juggernauts but in his own way?

i think garen needs a power shift to give him more skill expression in his abilities.

maybe put more power into the w shield from his q damage or something like that.

maybe something like villainy back that makes him deal a lot of damage when he plays well. the only "problem" with garen is that he needs to be less strong at low elo but as strong at high elo (balanced) as he is this patch.

ok. change his W to only give the bonus resistances that he stacks. he can only activate W when near allies, which will grant them and himself a shield based on his max hp. he sacrifices tankiness to give his team some tankiness with this change. it would be like a mini item 3190 .

As far as the first suggestion, useless during the early game anyway, but later Garen will often take Iron Elixer, which has similar effect.

And in the right match, especially at higher levels of play, Garen might even buy a Knight's Vow for one of his last items, which would provide some of the other effects that you mention.

More than any other champion, everybody seems to have their pet Garen Rework Plan. The last one was pretty horrible. It was reversed enough so that he's almost as good as he was four months ago. If you want these kinds of abilities, then play another champion.

Garen is still the tankiest juggernaut, excelling at surviving burst damage. (But not quite as good at it as he used to be, to be sure.)

Sivir's ult on a <10 sec cd? Sure, why not.

Why should Garen get a "Braum's E but better" again?

Garen finally get some tools to stay a the same lvl like new champions and like other juggernauts but in a different and an exclusive way , The Demacia Way.

Its not a "different and exclusive way", its a "we have to nerf his stats to add some supportish mechanics so now he can't lane at all"
