Can I Be A Noob For A Moment?

And ask why Taliyah isn't getting the nerf treatment that Lulu and Morgana got to their kits?

From what I remember, Morgana had her kit nerfed (it wasn't big of a nerf, but that's another story) for the sake of toning down her power in the support role. Whereas, Lulu had her kit nerfed for the sake of toning down her solo lane presence so that she'd be favored more as a Support (her primary role, to begin with) rather than a solo lane bully.

Taliyah, however, seems to be doing a good, if not amazing, job at being played in the Support role. As far as I was aware, Morgana wasn't even THAT much of a lane bully and the most frustrating part of her entire "Support kit" was her year-long snare. [Not counting her ult, of course.]

Lulu, I have no arguments for. (Sorry, I don't play her so I wouldn't know what to say about her without sounding like an uneducated bias a-hole.)

But Taliyah has good (if not annoying af) poke with her short cooldown Q, a hard engage and/or disengage with her W, and basically a "you can't step here unless you want to die" zone with her E. Not to mention, her passive combined with her ult make it easy for her to go to, like top lane, assist there and then snap back to bot lane so fast that it's almost like she never left.

TL;DR: Taliyah Support is way more frustrating to deal with than Morgana Support was pre-nerfs and she is still a crazy solo lane bully, as well. So I'm seriously curious as to whether or not she'll get any nerfs to her kit? Like a nerf to her roaming potential and stuff like that. That's honestly where most of my concern lies.

Extra Comment: This isn't a flame or rage post. Just a simple, passive curiosity concern. Any comments, whether for or against possible Taliyah nerfs, are welcome.

Taliyah is a terrible choice for support. I don't know why you'd think otherwise. She has super high scaling. If you use her in the support role you are effectively starving yourself out of gold making you utterly useless. Her ult also requires a setup that you cannot really get as a support. You need to be with your ADC most of the time so you can't easily get an angle at which your ult will provide much. Roaming, even for less than a minute, can mean your ADC death or pressure on him/her that will be very unhealthy for your lane. It also starves you of much-needed XP and you are already XP starved from a duo lane to boot.

So no. Taliyah is a poor choice for support bar a few very specific team compositions.

Guess I just ran into the coordinated duo-bot lane, then. = \ Oh well. It happens, I guess. Thanks for clearing that up.

No problem. It could also have been a beneficial composition for them. Just that Taliyah's weaknesses doesn't meet up with other damage support like Brand or Vel'Koz. Their damage stay relevant from their passive and they don't require a item 3116 or other specific items to keep up.

That makes sense. If you don't mind me asking, what exactly IS Taliyah's weakness(es)?

Mainly Burst, as in many other squishy champions, but it's more than that in a way, she acually takes timing to use her combo right, and her Q doesn't have a huge range anyways and you can side step it with ease. playing as her and against her seems more of skill matchup. Otherwise, i've seen her do poorly against someone like casso, who can burst her down really quickly without having to dash through her field.

If that's the case for her, what's the case for Lulu? I've always had a hard time figuring out what to do about her too. She has a pretty decent poke range and if I engage her, she just "poofs" me and walks (or "zips") away scot-free.

Lulu while she does have shields and such, the shields aren't that strong... and she's just a simple case of CC her and she's basically dead, her shields are too weak to save her since her nerfs to force her out the midlane. (Assuming) that you're talking about a support lulu, you can easily take any other AP support ex. Sona/Morgana and such champions and shes gone, tbh a janna can fight her.

Mid Lulu was never a problem, as I was never the mid laner when she was picked.

Support Lulu is indeed the one I'm worried about, and I appreciate the feedback on possible solutions to her. I have Janna, but I never got the hang of her. People everywhere say she's easy to use, but for me, she just doesn't click. Her kit is fun to use, but I never feel like I'm using her correctly/efficiently. Morgana, I could use, as I've loved Morgana since the first day I started playing League. I'll have to try her the next time I end up against Lulu.

She's predictable, can't turn while using her Q, staying in the same area for a long time in a fight.. (Because of worked ground) I haven't went up vs one yet tho...

That's what I thought when I go up against her in mid lane. Like I said, though, I've never gone up against Taliyah support myself, but rather have had other bot laners lose bot lane by being murdered by her specifically (not the adc, coincidentally). Maybe I'll run into one eventually and see what they're supposedly doing wrong or allowing her to do right.

She only has a knockback, not any hard cc. She might be extremely weak against assassins.

I'll keep that in mind for any future games where I get put against her. Might try Leblanc or Ahri (assuming I don't ban Ahri, that is)

Well, her scaling for one. She is too heavily dependent on non-support specific items like item 3116, item 3151, item 3285, etc. item 3060 is probably the only exception and isn't enough by itself. Her abilities are very telegraphed and mostly easy to avoid in a lane like bot lane. Especially considering she cannot use her Q to its full potential down there because enemies can simply hide behind minions and Taliyah will steal CS from her ADC if she tries to poke. Which forces her to stay relatively close to walls in order to shoot behind those minions, giving less room for Worked Grounds and less poke overall. Seismic Shove take too long to use to be dangerous, put her at risk of using it and a good bot lane will retaliate if caught as once Taliyah used her Seismic Shove, she's pretty much out of tools to get away. Her ultimate also has nearly no impact for the majority of bot lanes situations. It takes too long to cast. Her ultimate is designed for surprising an enemy lane and Taliyah cannot roam freely if she is in the support role. She's kind of like TwistedFate or AurelionSol in the sense that her kit focus on map control rather than lane dominance. And for bot lane, if you go for a caster support, you need to focus on lane dominance.
