His passive of healing is being moved to his W, which is certainly a nerf...

A nerf to his supporting.

Pyke now won't be able to regenerate pre level 3 without sacrificing some utility. The level 2 critical phase is essential for botlane, and Pyke just lost a lot of power down there because of this change.

In addition to that, what Riot did was instead of addressing his roaming potential through W, they buffed his W's movement speed in later levels as compensation for the reduced healing in early levels and the reduced stab damage. Sure, buffing his hook damage while nerfing his stab damage seems like a good choice, but it really isn't practical when all Pyke needs to do now is to throw hooks to harass instead of going in and stabbing before roaming. This is Talon 2.0 but with utility.

Pyke might be harassed at level 1 by some ranged midlaners, but so are several other champions, and this doesn't address Pyke top as well as it should, as harass isn't exactly rampant there either. I look forward to seeing Pyke start long sword and 3 health pots or refillable potion a LOT more.

His W getting a buff only means that instead of focusing more on killing while roaming, Pyke might shift to hooking and stunning while roaming, while still having the same level of power in his ultimate. Tiamat into Black Cleaver anyone?

Honestly he needs deleted from the game. He should have never been created in the first place. Horrible designed champ that belongs NO WHERE near the bot lane or any lane for that matter.

They should make it so that his abilities work like support items. They're much less effective without a teammate nearby. His Q would have less damage, and his E would have a shorter stun duration unless a friendly player was within 1000 units or something like that.

This would last for the laning phase only. Once Pyke gives someone else enough gold with his ult (tying it to levels would just hurt support Pyke), he gets his full strength on his own.

He would be forced into a duo lane for the laning phase, but would be able to roam around and do his thing later on. It kinda fits his theme, too: he needs a crew to stand with him to start, but once he pays his debts, he becomes untethered from them.
