Rune Refund arguments: vote and other idea for solution

In the past few days I seen people arguing for or against fair IP(BE) refunds. Most people says they want 1:1 of their spent IP(BE) back so they can purchase things when the BE store opens. There are also those that finds it logical to not get anything or accepts the laughable amount of ~10%. Both side can be satisfied. Those of you who support the 1:1 gets the 1:1 IP back , those of you who dont want it gets nothing. (dont come back crying later)

Jokes aside here is a solution for everyone involved(veterans, new players, Riot) the Middle ground:

Riot dont want us to get too much free stuff from the IP(BE) sale that is the only reason for the unfair refund idea. They could just simply give us back the IP 1:1 and increase the IP(BE) prices in the IP(BE) store and it should stay forever. That way they would not seem like they neglect the older costumers and there would be always a way to spend surplus IP(BE).

Edit: I dont care how much IP(BE) costs on the IP(BE) sale days. Riot is a company so of course they want to make money. We can see things from a different perspective as well make the IP store permanent but make the prices high.

Example prices

icons : 2000 IP mystery skin shard: 10.000 IP mystery skin : 25.000 IP mystery champion shard: 1700 IP mystery champion: 5000 IP mystery emoticons : 10.000 IP mystery wards : 10.000 IP Chroma : 3000 IP each Gemstone : 50.000 IP

URF WW SKIN : 150.000 IP

Lets say old players have like 200.000 IP they will most likely buy the WW skin and get 2 mystery champion skins. This does not make Riot bankrupt. Most new players will play the game for years to get champions or buy stuff they really want with RP since it takes a lot of time getting anything from the list.

URF WW SKIN is a mile stone that can be reached but not impossible

Being able to buy stuff from IP makes people want to play more.

Option 1, accpet what riot is currently offering. Option 2, you don't have a second option.

If we discuss things civilized I'm sure Riot is open for negotiation. Remember they want this game to be awesome and stay for a long time as much as we do. There is always an option, life is full of choices and nothing is set in stone.

w8 so i spent over 50k on runes and now i get 10% of that? lol im actually quiting the game if this shit goes through idgaf about masters if they cant be fair. fkin tragic...

100 IP for every tier 3 runes and 300 IP for Quints regardless of the price spent on them.

That is the reason for all the refund posts created in the past days. Most people want back the IP spent since you can purchase skins, cromas, icons and other good stuff with them in the preseason for a few days. Others are white knighting Riot's decision.(probably jealous new players who dont have anything to gain from Riot being fair to his original player base). Unfortunately my post will most like fade away among the arguments with no solution. The middle ground would most likely make everyone happy and solve the other issue that always existed. (the lack of option to buy with IP)

Thats a fair point but i think you just pointed out the reason why its fair. You had more time to play thus you have more to spend. It doesn't matter if you're from s1 or s4 its just how much you've played and thats what should make you a veteran. Alot of the veterans have a ton of IP left over. I personally have 40k after like 10 name changes. What runes other then the the common runes do you need... do you really need energy runes etc. People bought those for fun and they used them and got the worth out of them.

edit: like shit my friend owns every single run thats 370k IP. It only takes >3k games and thats nothing for veteran players.

Riot can make every side happy while not loosing any profit. I dont think there is a better solution then mine, since I consider every side viewpoint when suggesting ideas.

Any idea regarding refunding should consider these 3 requirements: give back acceptable % of IP, make new players happy , Riot do not loose profit.

No matter what Riot decides regarding the refund new players will be happy either way. Bunch of free stuff : more IP(BE), level up bonuses(IP(BE), champion tokens), faster XP gain, every rune free.

Isnt it more of a 20-25% return? I mean what are we even gunna do with the amount of IP we would have if its 1:1 ratio. Most veteran players have thousands of IP just sitting there and by the way the new leveling system sounds like, theyre making it easier to obtain champions, emotes, crafting material etc. They even said its possible the preseason store is coming again next season.

The % depends. Some of the quints costs 2050 Ip and you get back 300 = ~14,6 %, some runes costs 800 Ip and you get back 100 = ~12,5. Overall you loose a lot of IP spent not to mention the RP you lost purchasing champions because you had to buy runes to compete on fair grounds on Ranked.

When the store comes out not even old veterans will have enough IP(BE) to buy everything they want. Riot dont want us to get too much free stuff from the IP(BE) sale that is the only reason for the unfair refund idea. They could just simply give us back the IP 1:1 and increase the IP(BE) prices in the IP(BE) store. They could also leave the store open forever but drastically increase IP(BE) prices. That way you can always look forward to buy something and motivate people to play more. More rewards -> more dedicated player base -> less que time -> better game ->new players, old players come back -> happy costumers -> more money ->happy Riot

From the few seconds of the exclusive shop we've seen everything seems really cheap. 2.5k for exclusive mystery icons 4.9k for mystery icon box 3.950 for mystery champion Im assuming that the icons contain multiple icons bundled together due to the picture and the wording but everything seems really really cheap. most people own all the cheaper champions so theyre getting the newer champions for half off. i think most people are just salty that theyre not getting enough for the exclusive skins that are 150k and i think they should be unobtainable for most people. Thats what makes them valuable.

Im a veteran and i have way more then enough for urf ww and what they have shown so far. I think keeping the exclusive store would remove the purpose of it. Having it just come back every preseason is fine and they explained they might do it in a reddit comment but that has to be tested.

Giving a 1:1 but increasing the BE in the store would punish new players even further because they dont even have enough runes to make a difference.

edit: I dont think you mentioned this but theyre multiplying all your current BE by 6.5

Their current idea favors new players and punishing the veterans. How is that any better?

Defending the newer player base who are yet to put anything on the table, they will get every rune for free from the start, faster leveling, increased IP and champion tokens. They are already treated way better then any of us ever was. And I agree with Riot for assisting the new player base it is a great idea, but there is no reason to screw us the older player base over.

I read many comments that veterans from season 1 cant purchase WW skin because they spent all their IP on runes. I feel that is a big middle finger towards them.

I agree it should be a special reward for the oldest of players here. Not every person plays the same amount of times. I am sure even me who was here from only season 4, might have more spending IP then those that started from the earliest seasons simply because I had the time to play more games.

let's be real , it's IMPOSSIBLE to get an 1:1 refund

it's too much for riot and most people who complain know it

but what we want is a better refund than 12% 12% is just an absolute joke

In the end it may all seem pointless if the prices are increased but that way Riot can show us that they treat every costumer EQUALLY

I disagree that Urf ww should be a milestone reached. Thats not the point of Urf ww, its an exclusive skin and it should remain exclusive not something people can eventually reach because they casually played. Every True veteran has more then enough to afford Urf WW. It only would cost 23,077 BE currently. Thats roughly >15856 RP which is like >100$? and thats >138,232 IP if you buy champ shards in the shop and disenchant them for the 8.5% profit and then when they multiply it by 6.5. Thats nothing.

Think my math is off. its around 137,700 IP for Urf WW.

Well Riot could then simply give Urf WW to anyone for free who played since the start and make new milestone available.

Alot of People do have it that played from the start it was like 50RP and the milestones are uncapped level rewards, and the standard things we have today such as every champion, chroma, icon, ward skin, etc (in terms of IP) the other milestones players have is getting from a higher rank.
