There are no proper runes for Mages

Yes there is no proper keystone for most mages. Not to mention a choice to choose from multiple runes that might be good. Aery is clearly supposed to be a support keystone and it wastes a slot for mages. The reason why it got nerfed as well.

Deathfire touch deleted, thunderlord deleted.(no electrocute is not worth the bad domination tree)

Once again only AD champions got the best keystones. There are 1 or 2 exceptions like Ezreal and Gankplank abusing the support keystone Kleptomancy.

Mages need a real Rune option for damage, dot, mana instead we got movement speed only if we hit every skillshot, a dodgeable uncontrollable area damage and a support poke rune.

There are probably a lot more champions that lack a good rune . We supposed to have equally useful runes to choose from. Well its a success on the mages. They all suck the same level.

Riot doesn't give a fuck about mages lol who are we kidding? Of the top 25 most picked champions only 2-3 are actual mages while ADC, bruisers, and assassins occupy like 85-90% of the top 25 most picked champs.

It's just another case of Riot appealing to the majority of its player base.

Totally agree with you on this. tbh I don't think Riot will do anything about it.

Yeah, Comet is a total waste. Its so easy to dodge if it isn't proced by a CC. Plus theres no synergy with Dot Mages aside from Aery.

I wish they were more experimental with the keystones. I expected more stuff like the inspiration tree. I don't feel like the new system completely delivers on the idea of playing how you want to play. They pigeon hole you into specific play patterns.

"but muh Arcane Comet and my uh.... Arcane Comet!" Arcane Comet doesn't even land if you don't have a stun, root, or 80%+ slow :/ not to mention a lot of mages don't wanna blow their CC for just poke damage

All this could be solved by weaving in an auto.

It's an assassin meta this preseason, if you haven't already noticed.. Mages and other "fun champs" aren't gonna see any love until Riot decides "HEY I WANNA SEE SOMETHING NEW" lol.Diana [slayer-pantheon-thumbs]

Yeah, I'd remove Summon Aery and Dark Harvest and replace with another keystone. I don't think either are good designs.

Comet is the mage keystone. And you can easily use Electrocute. Why are mages bitching that they can't use Electrocute? Most of them used TLD before anyway, and now Electrocute does more damage and you have to do a bit more work to proc it. That's fair and balanced. There's a rune that gives you fucking 15% spell vamp in the domination tree. No reason for you to go sorcery as your primary.

Mages can use Aery, they can use Comet, they can use Unsealed Spellbook, they can use Kleptomancy, they can use Fleet of Foot, they can use Glacial Augment, they can use Electrocute, they can use Phase Rush.

Actually Ezreal is abusing basically all abusable Key-runes.

Just the last game I got introduced to Dark Harvest Ezreal jungle who took a third of my HP at level 2 with one Q, winning the gank by existing.

The other time he goes to lane with Kleptomancy and becomes unpunishable with infinite supply of consumables.

Here are some ideas Glacial augment can also proc from single target spells

fleet footwork can also proc from single target spells

give some slow res to phase rush from ranged (not 75%, less)

What mages are these runes not proper for?

TheHappyReaperz11/22/2017, 4:51:50 PM1 votes

You can dodge Comet, but almost every Mage has a way of CC'ing an opponent to prevent you from dodging.
