•Velkoz Vel'Koz: Same as Orianna, mr.Eyeball is in tha perfect spot

• Sion I feel like Sion is the best balanced tank in the game right now

No way, Draven could be in some ways balanced, but is mostly broken (not OP necessary but annoying to face or use like Tyrnda) i feel like his gold passive put him in a very "toxic" place because one wrong play (as drav) could mean a lot of gold lost and as an enemy even if your jungler gets caugh or sniped by his ult he will get a huge advantage

I definitely agree with Vel and Ori as the most balanced mid laners.

I'm also gonna throw in Nami Caitlyn and MissFortune . They're genuinely in pretty good spot with genuine strengths and weaknesses.

This list brought to you by OP:

Lux : Fair stats for her utility. Skill based w/o being complex. exploitable strengths and weaknesses. Reliant on team work to be her best.

Lulu : Same reasons as Lux. Proof that Overloaded =/= broken and un balanced! :P

Fiora : Haters gunna hate; but Post rework Fiora is the epitome of out play! Playing as or against Fiora is very much based on player skill. Positioning and timing is key either way. I wish more of LoL's champions worked this way. Counter play, not counter build.

They all broken and have no counterplay except fiora's passive and ult

My Waifu Vanilla5 votes

No counterplay? Lux is entirely skill shot based and has zero mobility. All lux can do if she misses Qs left and right is poke you and never get a kill.

Hell after level 7 she will typically even push the lane right to your tower and asked to get ganked. Lulu on the other hand is subpar as a support and doesn't do much top unless she can abuse her opponent and get a lead, however, like lux will auto push your lane due to passive and Q harass so is also very easy ganks.

I play Karma and Nami so i think they are both Balanced, they have defined weaknesses and strengths, TF i feel is the same to be honest even if i dont play him. I go by how i see others play them though, i see all 3 generally do decently well most of the time.

Can agree with Nami and TF but not Karma. To me her strengths and weaknesses are incredibly blurred, she doesn't seem overly good or bad at anything bar early poke.

Stephenizgod1 votes

Really? I think she is balanced because her Q's are pretty easy to dodge and they are blocked by minions. Her shield is weak but if she maxes it first (which is what i do when im support) her Q and W are weak. I think you can completely ignore Karma as long as you stay behind minions or out of range.

Can you give some more insight as to why you think they are in the perfect spot? What makes them perfect? Why should Velkoz be "perfect" and not Brand for example?

yeah, first of all i just listed 3 but as you rightly pointed out, there are more champions that can be included. Anyway

I just think Vel'Koz , if you consider him a poke mage is the most healthy because :

  1. his poke is actually really reasonable compared to other champions (lux, xerath even brand, with soem items destroy you from long range)
  2. His passive is integral to do the bulk of its damage, and you have to land your skills carefully to have the full proc effect
  3. he is totally counterable
  4. he has sclear strenght and weaknesses
  5. He is not "anti-fun" to play against

Corki MonkeyKing Velkoz

DemaciaClown9 votes

Wukong? Balanced? Don't get me wrong, I play him, but playing AGAINST him is so annoying. Such mobility, burst, dps, tankiness, a game changing ult...

HentRex4 votes

Corki's balanced solely for the fact that he has everything, but barely any of it. Ap scaling or ad scaling? Some range but not with out being close. Poke but not Burst. Gap closer or escape? AoE + Vision. He is like a sculptor chipping away at a statue that is victory.

Raid Boss Morde4 votes

No burst? Have you seen full AP Corki? xD

LordGeovanni1 votes

wu kong has all that you say but besides his ratio on spells being a little high and scaling stats seeming a little low he looks balanced

DemaciaClown2 votes

He might not be favorable in this juggernaut meta, but he will make a comeback when it ends.

drbob20122 votes

I'm going to argue Volibear. Since most people are spouting the same champs, I'll take a risk.

He has big team fight potential, great ganks, and can smash a squishy in a team fight, but his 1v1 game isn't so strong because most of his kit is optimized in a team fight due to AOE damage and throwing an enemy out of position. Good passive but burst can kill you before it's healing really takes effect. His best single target damage ability can't be used until he gets three melee hits in a short duration, then if he gets kited the charges disappear. Other people keep looking for champs with solid strengths and weaknesses for a balanced champ, but Volibear is a good example of someone with great team fight potential who is also not useless in a duel (or even 2v1 in the enemy favor) without being OP.

Remlap12231 votes

No, Volibear is insanely toxic to play against if you don't have a dash or hard CC. His passive is one of the stupidest things ever, and his W scales off of health, which as evidenced by the juggernauts is a fan-freaking-tastic idea obviously.

drbob20123 votes

I would agree that you've outlined his strengths in a way that makes him sound really OP, but you also said how to counter him. Have a dash or hard cc and you're safe from ganks pretty much. Also, I'll add that you can pick a good duelist or someone with good ranged poke if you go against him in lane. Edit: actually, I thought about it. His W is literally Garens ult (can actually be stronger) while Volibear still has his own mega strong ult and a major repositioning ability for team fights. Plus his passive which while it can be busted down if a Mage times their combo right, the passive is a strong heal. So I change my position you're right.

Remlap12231 votes

It's the exact same problem as Master Yi. Have hard CC? Congrats, you can beat the nooblord. Don't? Well shit, he's about to dive on your entire team and get a pentakill.

Volibear is worse to face because you can't burst him down, but at least he's like Garen and will only take out one guy on your team, and falls of significantly in the late game.

Voli needs a rework. So much potential wasted on brainless cheese.

Salron1 votes

Ori is super balanced which is why she has been a staple pick at worlds for the past 3 seasons Oh boards.

My Waifu Vanilla5 votes

I mean her kit is very strong in a group setting and will typically have a team built to support her. She isn't picked every year because she's overpowered she just offers a lot to the team and is held back by needing 2-3 items to actually do damage late game (at least a deathcap).

Only Play Darius1 votes

Damn, you took Orianna from me, she's always the first one I think of when I think of a balanced, well designed champion.

Sivir Sona JarvanIV

Pika3103 votes

If by "balanced" you mean "gutted to be the weakest amongst their class," then sure.

  • Sivir got hurt really bad with that last gutting to her R. She doesn't really have much else going for her: low bases, low scalings, low range. She MIGHT be a step above MF, but only just.
  • Jarvan is probably the most well-off of those three, but he constantly dances between playable and unplayable with repeated nerfs and buffs.
  • As for Sona... arguably the weakest champion in the entire game after dying in patch 4.13, I'd rather be playing a caster minion as it autonomously walks down the same lane over and over just to suicide into enemy minions and turrets only to respawn and do it all again. At least I'd feel like I had some sort of purpose.
Faded Lich1 votes

hahahahahahahhhahaha. Another person who underestimates mf. :3 love it.

Pika3103 votes

"Underestimate" nothing. She's in my top 10 masteries, I understand her quite well. Strong lane, stronger dueling(she can easily 2v1), terrible everywhere else.

Being tied with Draven for 2nd-tankiest ADC after Urgot, she's essentially just a weaker cookie cutout of the Glorious Executioner.

Faded Lich1 votes

Yet you fail to realize she has a good steroid, Attack reset and one of the strongest late game right clicks in the game thanks to the impure passive stacking damage. That is kinda sad. The only thing holding her back is getting fixed in this next patch which is her lack of ult past 10 minutes. Now she'll have one of the best team fight ults available to an ADC.

So..yeah. Underestimate by a lot. You might play her a lot but that clearly doesn't mean you understand a damn thing.

Pika3103 votes

You didn't even read what I said. Those strengths are what feed into her strong laning and strong dueling that you chose to ignore me distinctly noting.

What you fail to realize is she lacks mobility and decent CC, whereas Draven has both of these in addition to her other strengths you've mentioned. Champions can't be viable when someone else has an identical, but stronger kit. This is true for anyone, not just MF.

However, since you didn't read my last post, I'm certain you won't read this one either and will continue unjustly attacking me.

insaiyanbacca1 votes

2nd tankiest adc after urgot? have you seen graves' passive?

Pika3101 votes

You're right. There is that exception, but he has to build it up over time and if he drops a stack they all fall off at once.

We can discuss outliers all day, but as far as base stats are concerned it's accurate.

i ground out mastery 5 with sona with only 2 losses. Actually the easiest champ ive ever played, some people just have trouble not dying and im guessing youre one of em. Not even arguably close to the worst champion in the game, her worst stat is being countered by blitz/thresh/leona/nautilus so shes basically unplayable in blind pick or first sup pick, but def not the worst champ in game. Try not to take damage, it helps.

and i wonder why peeps say .13 killed sona

Wasn't her gameplay update on patch 4.13? You can't really call the entirety of her update "24 nerfs".

You're right, they increased her base armor by 3, so what we CAN call the entirety of her update is "1 buff and 24 nerfs."

sure, lets entirely ignore the kit/ability changes

of course you're gonna nerf the numbers of a nidalee spear if it can now split into 3 and home in on the enemy.

Pika3103 votes

They didn't ignore the changes, they're all clearly listed there. Sona had 25 changes made to her and 96% of those were nerfs.

Your Nidalee example doesn't make sense as it's inapplicable to this situation. Sona hits fewer enemies for less damage and enhances fewer allies for smaller numbers. That's a nerf on top of another nerf, regardless of whatever disinformation you create.

Well i must be doing something different.... i only lost 2 games before getting her to mastery 5..... If you lose to ANY squishy support with sona you are doing something tragically wrong. it seems to me like people dont understand the simple fact that sonas only balance is the fact that she cant be hit. Learn to position and it becomes as easy as a press of the q button.

ive never even seen bronze 5... or a ranked loss in the last few weeks for that matter... gtfo outta here with your condescending shitstorm, I never said play sona every game... and i never said shes someone who should see top tier play, hell 80% of champ pool isnt playable at high elo. oh and btw if youre stepping into auto attack range frequently with sona, or using her heal in lane, you are again, playing her incorrectly.

oh and btw if youre stepping into auto attack range frequently with sona, or using her heal in lane, you are again, playing her incorrectly.

Seeing as her AA range is 550 and that's the only way to proc both Staccato AND Hymn's secondary active, common sense disagrees.

Hymn's active is tied for the lowest base damage amongst the entire support class at 40 base with 700 range. If you're relying on this, you may as well use Nami's W for 70 damage at 725 range.
