I miss Alacrity

I've been using the Alacrity boot enchant since i started playing back in season 4 and tbh, it was a very good tool for all champions, It helped immobile, slow champions go faster and utilize that movespeed boost to move quicker and dodge skillshots or get away AND it also helped assassins and other champions keep up with their target a bit easier. It was a very usefull and underrated item tbh, i almost never saw it built in my games on anyone other than me...

And, tbh, i miss it a lot. Bring it back pls

I miss distortion. But too many people apparently bought alacrity, therefore Riot removes all boot enchants. Logic.

and why was that bad? why was buying alacrity bad? i can't understand that. i've always been using it and now everything feels slower

I built Alacrity almost every game. I only didn't build it on champions that were ideal for something else, i.e. a Teleport user (Distortion), a Black Cleaver/Trinity Force user/Sivir (Furor), or certain supports (Captain).

Personaly, in all my games, i was the only one who took it. And my premade friends when we played together because i convinced them of it's usefulness! Besides that, nobody else i've ever seen built it.. they all went for homeguards, even tho the Alacrity ms was permanent

Buying Alacrity was bad because like 2 people only ever bought anything else. Plus, Alacrity did nothing but add to the mobility creep and force the losing team to buy more speed or be run down, which hurts when you're already strapping for money. Furthermore, Alacrity being removed now makes Boots of Swiftness a weighted choice. Do you want Ninja Tabi with the Armor? Mercury Tread with Tenacity and MR? Or do you want pure speed so you can outrun opponents and chase better? This change makes you value your boot options now and choose to give up something if you want the extra speed.

It makes sense, but Swifies could gain the Alacrity bonus just as the rest. And for the other options, you could get Alacrity and on be run down by everyone else that has higher base ms

Thing is, Alacrity was taken like 90% of the time. So it was like if everyone buys it, what's the point of it when it is essentially is nothing but base move speed with boots?

Well, having not seen in my games, it's strange for me to understand that but well, if it's based on recorded stats then it was a coincidence for me to see nobody take it
