Influence Points?

Okay so I've been level 30 for about 2-3 years now and I've owned every champion for about equally as long. I've purchased all the runes i could need and just about everything in the store you can buy with IP. I still have 45,000 IP though? What am i even suppose to do with that much? Can riot make it so you can buy hextech keys and chests with IP or maybe some skins can be bought with IP o something because I'm sure I'm not the only one with way too much IP and absolutely nothing to spend it on. I don't know maybe its just me but after you've been playing league for years IP seems like an irrelevant form of in game currency.
