Do CDR boots really need a price nerf with no compensation?

Would it break them to bump one or both of their CDR stats up to 15%?

what exactly are you talking about? do they have a cost increase on the pbe?

its proposed atm.

Give riot a day or so, and they'll be back to cardboard tier boots.

All the 'cheap' boots have had their price bumped from 800 to 900 on PBE.

Mobis are getting higher out of combat mobility. Swifties are getting nothing since they're already amazing. Lucies are getting nothing because I have no idea.

I still think it would be a decent idea to make them build out of item 1001 + item 3114 and grant some mana regen. That would put them on par with the other more expensive boot options and allow them to be more attractive to a wider range of champions.

That'd run into some weird problems with some agro supports. And all non-mana reliant champs that build them..Rengar Riven Zed You know what..nevermind...imokwiththis.jpg

It would be a buff to Jayce and a nerf to manaless AD twats who like to run them.

Choosing between Mpen and CRD/mana regen would be a much more compelling choice on a lot of Mages, too.

You know, champions who have very few sources of CDR since it's mostly stat bind to mana. And the fact that AD's have very few boot options if they don't scale with Attack Speed.

Mages all ready have a compelling choice between those too boots though. (actually Lucidity boot's were the most popular because it's cheaper.) And yet, their really wouldn't be a good reason not to get Lucidity boots if it had Mana regen. Fix mana problems with an item that would help dodge skill shots, as well as reduce the travel time to lane. And I'm almost certainly sure that it would be abused by poke/heal supports. A class a champion that Lucidity boots were balanced around.

Boots of Swiftness were buffed, coupled with Mercs getting nerfed.

As a result, basically everyone is running Boots of Swiftness in high level play.

I'd rather see sorcs get a price decrease than an increase on lucies. There's tons of reasons I'm buying lucies on near every mage instead of sorcs. Lower price, gets me to 40% cdr, added summ reduction is always nice, but the main reason is sorcs don't feel worth at all.

An interesting point of view.

Magic pen is one of the most cost effective ways of increasing raw burst. Do you play mages mostly focused on utility and/or CC?

I think yes they do. They are currently bought in the vast majority of games over similar choices. They are "crowding out" other boot options. Either the other boot options need a buff or they need a nerf. Given that they were the last ones to be changed, it is likely that they are out of line rather than their competitors. They need a nerf - compensation for a nerf is inly given when the goal is a power shift or a change that should have no change in power, not when the goal is to make them weaker

I'd like to have the CDR upped to 15%. I am tired of always being 5% CDR off of being maxium CDR even though I have invested in CDR.

WarlockLaw1 votes

There is no cdr in the masteries and no item gives anything other than 10% or 20% cdr, if they add another 5% it would not be optimal unless you also ran 5% in your runes

Just summoner spell reduction by 15% and its good :)
