So why is tank ekko still a thing?

Ekko will always be better as a tank or bruiser. His ultimate and sustained damage sticking play pattern dictate that.

They need to either embrace that he's going to a bruiser with an assassin play pattern as an option or rework him.

That said this iteration of Ekko seems strong but not ridiculous like sunfire/iceborn was at its height. Tank items are actually in a good spot. Not too strong but not too weak either

Tank seems to work on nearly everyone atm

It's a thing because Riot specifically stated they wanted it to be a thing. Tank Ekko really isn't op tbh
