QSS should not be able to invalidate an entire champion.

We changed it so you can't negate Zed and Fiora ultimate by activating QSS.

Meanwhile look at from 0:13 to 0:17. Yup totally not invalidating an entire champion.

You think Urgot is invalidated if he misses his ultimate (in this case he only missed the second part too)? What makes you think that?

He didn't missed his ult. Illaoi was going to be executed as you can see from the animationof her being pulled towards him but she activated QSS and cleanse the pull. That gave her a free gap close and a double kill.

I know he didn't miss it.(that's why I said he missed the second part only) I am saying that even if an urgot misses his ultimate the rest of his kit makes up for it. Urgot's strength does not come from his ultimate. That is what I am saying.

Are you saying a 25% max hp execution with a hard cc follow up is not a huge part of urgot's strength?

QSS needs to exist because Riot refuses to make Malzahar into anything but an ult-bot. If he were a proper mage with more than 2 useful abilities (one of them being a completely overloaded passive) QSS wouldn't be nearly as necessary.
