there is literally no reason to nerf her shield without at least buffing another part of her kit, the balance team is just a bunch of monkeys
To be fair, shields were meant to be an ability that you used proactively and smartly. 6 second (lulu), and 4 second (Karma) shields tend themselves towards 'just use it whenever and it's fine.' If a 4 second shield is propping a champion's win rate up, there is other issues with the kit. I am betting this will be less impactful than people suspect. Certainly it is no "Olafd" situation.
Especially with damages as high as it is now, if your shield is lasting the full 2.5 or 4 seconds, you are definitely using it at a wildly inappropriate time. I could be wrong, but that's just my gut feeling about these changes. I'm decently sure this'll disproportionally affect bad Karma players.. I am however surprised that all of the changes aren't just getting the Janna's version of the nerf.
Like seriously she is one of the best supports to play in terms of her kit. She has such potential and yet she falls flat on her face because she doesn't have the right numbers and yet then keep bringing her down. Logic? "we need to nerf shields" hmmm so maybe do it to the appropriate champs and not just do it across the board because every champion has a different winrate and all the kits act differently and react to different items and runes for better and worse? It's like they are rushing to "fix" a problem and don't think it through on what they are doing.
I love Karma. This is so sad. She was a balanced champ. Now she is weak asf :(
Begs the question if actually any1 on their balance team bothers to even play supports.
Nerfing her shield is correct, conpensating her is not.
Well i'm sorry buddy, but this is a nerf which is well deserved along with Janna and Lulu and other shield casting supports which were part of the bot lane problems. If not the most part of the bot lane problems. The nerf is in less than 2 weeks, so it's too soon to know if compensation is needed, or buffs on other abilities. My advice? Just say "well it's about damn time!" and wait and see, if all is good, yay! If not, wait a little more, gather enough valid points and data to support your claims (max 1 week), then start complaining on boards. It's literally illogical to complain on boards over something that didn't even happen yet, and keep in mind that all this is still being tested. Riot was very hesitant on nerfing shield supports for a very long time.
