How did the idea of making the grind for IP even harder get accepted?

Also known as how on earth did I play like 20 games already with no reward? I am baffled. I just came back to LoL after a year, and outside of reading a few champion's patches I went in blind. I've been playing day and night just to get 2000 IP and buy Ornn. I mean, 2000 IP was never that easy to farm but it's nothing you can't accomplish in a few sleepless days.

I did see that now I had some missions. "Cool, some extra IP won't hurt, it's almost nothing but it's a nice gesture from Riot". Oh boi... Apparently those are the only reliable way to get IP. Just an hour ago I noticed my IP (Blue Essence now) hasn't moved a bit, or barely moved at all. It's just a bit over 4000 IP and most of it was probably due to quests. But I've been playing all day what the hell, please I want some opinions or something to be less salty. Is there a purpose to this?

They punished no lifing the game.

But if you play less than 10 games a day you get more BE then you did IP.

So my answer is quit being a no lifer and go play something else after your 10th game.

Because you don't have to dump a massive amount of resources into getting runes anymore the only thing left are champions.

It makes a massive difference, if you sit on 0 because you have to buy runes and can't buy anything else or if you have some amount of currency and the potential to buy a champion. Chances are you get a shard you want soon enough, in which case you will acquire a champion even faster than before.

Well it is pretty nice being able to buy a champion and not need to buy any runes or need to buy more rune pages etc... Made my experience with the game much better.

Sorry but after meditating it a bit more... What? I don't even know how is one supposed to buy a 6300 BE champion anymore. I'm struggling to get 2000 BE. League of Legends now feels like one of those P2W mobile games where you just log in for a reward, spend your energy and get out.

But it wasn't anything like that before, and runes were optional so don't come at me saying that we don't have to buy them anymore. If you play enough games, you should get your champion. But with this system that's not realistically true. I can see me playing an entire month and not getting enough Blue Essence unless they create Quests with huge rewards, but that feels wrong.

Riot is basically limiting what we earn and at what rate, they are the ones creating those missions in the first place. Earning BE when leveling should just be a nice bonus for your effort, not the entire cake.

I'm surprised there isn't a bigger outrage about this in the community, they basically killed progress, I can't fathom buying a champion without being a HARDCORE player. Dedication isn't enough.

Are you disenchanting any shards you get from boxes?

I have not been playing much lately (I had a few ARAM binges and I often drop in for my First Win bonus) and I am getting plenty of BE. You get a little BE for each First Win, you can BE from disenchanting shards when you level up, and you get BE (or items that you can disenchant) from the missions.

I only have 15 or so champs locked still. In the past month I have unlocked Vlad (on 12/22 for 4800 BE) and Aatrox (on 12/30 for 6300 BE) and I am back to having 5,173 BE.
