Why is Sett filled to the brim with %health damage and even true damage

10% of your max health on a 5 second cooldown (3 seconds with 40cdr). I fucking hate this company. Maybe if I'm building health it's because I don't want to die as fast as everyone else, something this company can't seem to grasp.

Because he’s a juggernaut maybe?

dude calm down. he is the first champ in like 3 or 4 years thats not overloaded. and even for a juggernaut, his main source is still right clicking. this might be the first champ thats balanced from the release onward.

% HP damage usually doesn’t matter anyways unless you’re hitting a tank or bruiser. Play a glass cannon carry and he will still kill you just as fast without it in his kit 🤷‍♀️

Riot must think we are still in a tank meta

He's designed to be a top laner where he'll be fighting other fighters and tanks.

Not to mention his %HP damage can be mitigated with armour. 10% max health as physical damage usually ends up being significantly less because of damage mitigation and the fact that every champion gets armour per level. Now if it was %HP true damage on the other hand...

Any adc with botrk has 8% current hp damage. 16% for 2 attacks. Unless the enemy has <60% hp, he will take more damage from 2 botrk procs than from his Q. And botrk has no cd either. Its not really that strong, not to the point of being "filled to the brim". If you are building health, you will die slower. But without %hp damage and true damage fullbuild tank with 300 armor and 4k hp needs to take 16k damage to die, while a squishy champion with 2k hp and 50 armor needs to take 3k damage. So a tank is 5 times harder to kill than a non-tank. With this we would either have unkillable tanks or squishies deleting each other in 1-2 seconds, and both options would be bad.

Probably should bob and weave those punches

He needs that damage to be viable as a fighter, or he becomes like Irelia or Aatrox with like 30-40% winrate against ornn.

For a fighter to be viable toplane they need anti tank tools, and not just a little either as proven by Aatrox and his passive still sucking against them.

yea, it's the classic riot reaction to constant complains about tankiness, tanks and tank items feeling bad. Just throw in more stuff that makes tanks feel misserable. The worst thing is his ult, cause it uses the health of a tank to kill it's own squishys. If you pick chogath into Sett, you can be reported for helping the enemie cause a stacked up cho can deal 2k+ damage to his own backline if used by Setts ult. Going tanky already feels bad, but with Setts ult, building health actually increases your opponents damage vs your team instead of prolonging your live...

Then there is his W. It can store alot of damage which decays quickly, and it depends on the actuall POST mittigation damage he recives, so building resis on him actuall lowers his damage, so he even has a mechanic that makes resis even worse for him than they already are for anyone else....

The sad thing is that he would be a great design, he plays fluid, has counterplay, is rather simple yet with some decent potential for skill expression, has enough utillity to help in teamfights even if behind, yet not to much to be overbearing if ahead. But the way he is tuned, he's just living mockery for tanks and their stuff, and that's disgusting.
