So I'm trying to learn top lane....
I feel like, of all five positions, top lane may be my worst. A lot of it is that I'm unfamiliar with a lot of the champions there, something I'm trying to improve on. It's something that I've been trying on-and-off for awhile again, but I was reminded once again of why I'm so often deterred from dedicating myself to actually learning some of the champions that I might actually find fun; some champions are just too easy to abuse in top lane for easy win match-ups.
Teemo, Kayle and Heimerdinger, in particular, have made my top-lane experience kind of poor because it just feels like, unless you picked a mage or Cho'Gath, you can't do anything against them. Teemo has his perpetual auto-blind up all the time, even early game, so I can barely farm without letting him just harass me for free (and the blind means I miss CS anyway), Kayle has a lot in her kit to keep herself alive and keep you from reaching her at the same time, and even if you manage to get her low, she'll just ult and W to heal herself while kiting you down, and Heimerdinger has all his turrets that you can't take out because they go through minions and as soon as you take one down, he just pops another back up, cue stun and ult.
While I don't like any of those champs and do think they need some serious work so they're more fair, I also would really, really like some tips on how to deal with them. I don't have to -win-, but it isn't a good feeling doing everything you can just to try and farm under tower and still going 0/5 because the enemy picked a champion that's meant to counter most of top lane.

to use his blind to harass, and beat his ass. Rush
and beat his ass some more.
