There was some talk about a new Passive for Lissandra, but nothing came out of it. Are there still plans to change her passive?

No current plans. We did talk about possible passive changes a couple of patches back, best idea suggested though was the change to the self cast ult, which ended up testing really well, so we went with that instead.

hmm. thanks for the response.

I still think she could use something a little bit... more interesting. but that's just me, apparently

Yeah, Liss is a bit of a lackluster midlaner TBH. I like her top more, and building her like an AP bruiser.

To me Lissandra seems like control mage with decent damage who is good at kiting and controlling melee champions with her reliable root and relative low cooldown slow and of course she is good at picking people off with her point and click stun

Meddler I'm sorry this is really irrelevant but I LOVE you as a champion designer and everything you do, keep up the good work!

Her passive is really not useful at all once you get ROA.

Her close ranged spells are a huge issue and the fact that so much power is put into her mobility spell make it so crucial for her to hit someone with it but who would get hit by that slow thing with being cc'd first (At level 5 it deals the most damage out of all her spells sans her ult) ? Why are her spells so close ranged but she doesn't get bruiser like stats...or at least decent burst?

Furthermore, why are her ratios just so bad in the first place?

What would make me want to pick Lissandra over any other utility burst mage who can lock down and burst just as well, if not, harder than she does from 1000 units away and higher spell ratios?

Why is she so much risk to play but not enough reward?

Her kit is a mess and her pick rate+win rate is a result of that.

You pick Lissandra because while Orianna might lock down backline targets from far away, she cannot deal with frontline targets well. Lissandra is the opposite but even then she can make a reasonably good job of diving the backline. If you want a mage who can deal with melee threats (assassins, melee carries, squishy fighters), you pick Lissandra. That's her niche. Her being on a team completely negates the ability of a whole bunch of close range threats to engage on her team, which is extremely unusual for a mage. Of course she has to be lacking in other respects to make up for that.

So, she's essentially relegated to support #2 ?

She's not 'relegated' to anything, but if you think being supportive as a solo laner is a bad thing then you should probably just ignore Liss from now on. Every solo laner exists on a scale between complete selfishness (assassins like Akali and Zed) and complete cooperation. Lissandra exists on the cooperative end of the scale alongside people like Orianna and that's fine, it doesn't make her weaker than anyone else. The people who excel in cooperation with their team are obviously going to be worse at 1v1ing than the people who don't, because a champion shouldn't be good at everything. The problem everyone has with Ahri right now is that she is good at too much right now.

If you want to play mages who get all the glory for themselves and don't need to work with anyone then you just shouldn't be wanting to play Lissandra, she's just not for you. There are a ton of other champions you can pick instead of her. Complaining about Lissandra not having huge burst is like complaining about Ashe not having an AD scaling ult - if you want to burst, play someone who's designed to burst. Don't play someone who's packed with utility and wonder why you're not doing as much damage as someone who has no strengths other than doing damage.

I play utility mages all the time. Even so, when i play Lux or Ori and get myself fed I am a threat. Lissandra, not so much.

i actually like her passive it means she can still poke/push without any mana in her pool but ill admit the ability is pretty much useless late game

I don't think its useless, I think it's dull and boring.
