Shen's rework is a disaster and will be complained about in the next months

Hi guys ! First thing before the "he's not even out yet" i am testing him on PBE since the release and after various tries and numbers, i can confirm without a doubt (and i'm not the only one trust me : PBE BOARDS, basically most of what you get when searching pbe boards).

So the big question is, why does this rework destroy the character so much ? Well first before that, let's see what's Shen state right now and what does he lack. His kit is probably not the most enjoyable and dynamic one, but it is without a doubt very efficient and usefull in a team. You have a great regen, poke, survivability and utility with ult. His W is pretty much trash let's be honest, it's just a basic shield without interaction. But even with that, Shen is playable toplane and you can engage and fight ennemies with the actual kit, going poke, dash then passive into them.

Now why is Shen's rework that bad ? Because it takes all the little fun out of him and transforms Shen into a souless support without any gameplay. You might think the "spirit sword" is a great mechanic, you're wrong. Shen's new Q is an empower like on a lot of other champions, but lacks a huge thing that makes it gross : no auto reset. Every single empower ability in the game resets your auto attack to make your gameplay faster, but this one doesn't. You then get, a crazy bad empower that is very slow and scales on AP, for a maximum crazy of 0% bonus dmg ! It's not even fun to play with, even if people complained about a point & click poke, how is an empower where you click a button and boom you get a new auto FUN ? You have no interaction with the ennemy, you don't feel like you're doing anything to them. If he had other damage tools all right, but he DOESN'T.

His W now, the "so great" dodge tool for your team. Forget it, it sucks. It only reduces the CDR per level when you level it, the time of the active is ridiculous and ofc you have to place that ridiculous sword correctly in order for it to work, which is impossible in teamfights because everyone moves constantly and you can move the sword only with your Q that is your only ridiculous damage tool and has an actual cooldown.

And next you have the old abilities of Shen that everyone knows about, but don't forget about the passive that is now the old W shield that procs so randomly that you can't get it to work as intended as your old W did ! Oh and yea Ki Strike is removed so yea no damage for you.

So, TL;DR, what did we trade the old Shen for ? We had a "fun" Ninja that actually throws stuff like all ninjas in the game, that can deal great amount of damage (yes most of the tanky Shen's in my team have like top damage, and i'm plat) and are great to their team. Fun poke, good mobility, reliable shields and regen.

New Shen is, retarded support with no regen, no poke, no damage (no the Q doesn't do any damage) very hard utility because you won't place your sword most of the time and random shields. Riot thought it was a good idea to remove every single thing that made Shen unique, to make people focus on the magical sword mechanic. But the thing is, that little magical sword mechanic is nothing, it adds nothing to the gameplay besides a shiny pet on a leash ! Oh and it's actually a huge debuff to Shen because ennemies can see the sword in the fog of war, hello ninjas.

Trust me, people will play him once or twice when the rework goes out then his winrate will fail hard and he will go to the grave and end up like Sejuani did at her release. You want a tanky sup with reliable spells and damage ? Take Leona or Braum or Tahm, Shen will be loser tier support and no tier toplaner right now. He just doesn't have a good kit, he's not even a ninja anymore, the magical sword stuff is trash and ruins the character in every single way. Even if i get downvoted, i made my statement and it will be there when the time comes.

No hard feelings but as i constantly roam the PBE Boards, it just seems that Riot doesn't give a damn about any feedback (they didn't even make a feedback thread) because they already scrapped the whole character as soon as they revealed him so like it or not they say. Until it comes on front page of reddit or mass upvoted here after being trashed by pros, Shen will be in a miserable state.
