It's the Mana regen buff I like the most. Once Veigar get's Grail, He becomes a source of endless poke/waveclear farming potential. The fact that they buffed Grail to give 100% mana regen instead of 50 means that Veigar can stay at 50% mana without ever going lower. And if he does ever dip below that point, his Mana regen becomes so outrageous that he's back to 50% near instantly.

Yay! i can endlessly poke with one ability, yet never kill ANY ONE cause no one is stupid enough to stand in my stun, making veig a champ with only 2 abilities. :(

The speed of the Q doesnt matter. The other laner can still just hide behind minions so you can't poke them at all. Veigar is just a farmbot laner now that can occasionally get a kill if someone else on his team stuns for him.

Also nidalees spear can do as much damage as his ult late game without having to get close to them. Granted its a skillshot but its on like a 7 second cd. If you want the veigar burst there are better options now.
