Nasus is way too strong in low elo and way too weak in high elo

ChairOfTruth··38 votes·17,367 views

Nas is probably one of the most brain dead champs in the game. In lower elo, people don't know how to counter him and even if some people do understand how to counter him, it only takes one person (and a bunch of minions) to feed nas. This makes him an extremely tough champion to go against in lower elo and makes it seem like he is incredibly broken, he has one of, if not the best slow in the game, extremely tanky, lots of sustain, and still one-shots everybody on the team. I wouldnt blame someone in low elo for calling nasus broken. However in higher elo, Nasus becomes pretty damn weak, people know how to counter him and he almost completely unviable. I think its pretty unhealthy for a champion to be viable in one elo but not the other. nasus really needs a rework.

yes i am bronze and i am salty because a nas 1v9 for his team.

My only issue with Nasus is his RIDICULOUS point and click slow. It's far too long and after a second you might as well be stunned because it's either flash or tank at least 3 Qs.

If Nasus didn't have that slow he would literally be useless considering how much mobility and cc there is in the game.

His slow lasts for like 5 seconds and isn't only a slow, but a massive attack speed reduction as well. Darius doesn't have mobility but he seems to be doing alright. His slow should at least be a skillshot to give it some counterplay.

Nasus and Darius are two completely different champs. Darius has far more teamfight presence in that he can deal a ton of aoe damage and apply his passive to multiple people with Q. He also gets a ton of "free stats" with his passive and E. If you notice most juggernauts kits tend to involve "free stats" because if they reach someone they need to be able to clobber them, otherwise they would be useless. Nasus Q/Ult, Darius passive/E, Garen W, Mundo W/E.

If nasus skill was a skillshot, his kit would have to be buffed in some way to compensate for him being able to miss the slow.

Also with the whole low elo vs high elo difference it simply comes down to game knowledge. In low elo people are worse at kiting and peeling, or in dealing with a splitpush. In high elo they are better at these things.

Here u go my win rate in gold and higher elo, so tell me how is nasus good. Legit camped shut down 100% every game and still losing cuz jg and mid can't understand if jg is camping my as-s they need to go bot or kill mid take tower dragon and try to win that way and let me scale into a fking tank, but insted they think nasus can 1 v 9 when hes behinde so they try to help me and we lose cuz of it... https://i.gyazo.com/eb69e5bf29b2d6f65678fc4b8ffc6528.png

it is a slow alright but as you said you can still flash dash cc him + atleast 3 Q? Really ? at max rank his Q is on a 4sec cd after cast so 2,4sec (provided 40% cdr) if you are already on melee range so within the 5 seconds he can use 2 Q on you IF you were melee to begin with, oh that is IF you are already lvl 18 which nasus should never reach. Any champion can destroy him early game, don't judge him at minute 40. A team with a nasus usually loses an inhib before 30 minutes in any gold+ elo. It is like saying OMG i lost a 70 minute game to veigar. Guess what that is the champion design, useless early and kinda useful late if the enemy has 0 cc and 0 shields and 0 ms buffs.

And he pressed r so it's halfed. So 1.2 seconds. So ya three Q's sounds about right.

Darius has huge burst aoe heal and a resetting true damage execute. Plus a grab. Otherwise spot on comparison

Fondling Gems2 votes

Gonna jump on and mention that while Darius doesn't have mobility either his passive's synergy with Black Cleaver (his core item) provides him with 20 movespeed for 7 seconds anytime he damages any non structure target, putting him at 405 movespeed, which is rather high.

Also worth noting that turning Nasus's slow into a skillshot would mean that MORE power would need to be shoved into his kit to compensate.

Swiftstrike43 votes

Counterplay? It's a single target potent slow because if he doesn't have that he loses to any duelist with mobility.

The also probably loses most duels. How can Nasus catch any champion if they have a dash if wither is not as potent as it currently is?

Darius and Nasus aren't really comparable. Both are immobile and do damage but Darius has a grab that pulls his target to him and a slow. The grab also has armor penetration too!

He also wins prolonged fights if he lands his q and activates his passive.

Most competent players can literally just use their mobility if they get withered to get away.

E.G. Tryndamere engages nasus. Nasus wither's Trynd, Trynd spins away in response to his wither. Nasus walks to Trynd and by the time he gets to him his wither effects are off.

Same with Jax, Camille, Fiora, and any other top that has mobility escape. Nasus usually has to land 2 withers on a target to catch and hit them. Not one.

In team fights the slow is potent but mikaels and qss negate it and most ADCs that use one of those items against with will probably because to kite and duel him before Nasus can get in range to land damage.

Wither holds Nasus's entire kit together and if it was any less potent or on a longer cooldown or harder to use than Nasus would never be able to gap close to any target.

Snowman Arc5 votes

People can also build Swifties to counter that slow. It only becomes extremely oppressive after level 13 when it has 5 points in it, so it's not even that bad. A good player will have destroyed Nasus by that point.

He is mostly useless even with slow. Spliitpushing all the game were your own choice before. Now you just cannot join TF. And if your team is dumb enough not to understand that they actually can fight 4vs3 or simply unable to win even that, then you are fucked.

The Nasus in your game got a Sheen 4 minutes into the game. Sheen buffs his Q (Because you Q and then basic attack) and gives him mana and CDR to stack and trade with. What happened at 3-4 minutes in that game?

You can't blame the champion when he gets a 4 minute sheen, you should probably watch the game back and think about what led Nasus to getting the sheen so early. I think a Nasus in any elo with a 4minute sheen has the potential to do very well

None of this champs has like 4k hp 300+ armor and still hit like a truck

Snowman Arc3 votes

I mean, Veigar can just build a Deathcap, get tanky and still hit like a truck. Yi and Yasuo deal massive damage with just 3 damage items and can then go tanky - sustain. Feedersticks doesn't need tankiness, he just nukes your entire team, but he can also be tanky. His build usually has around 2,5k HP while also having Zhonya's.

He wants to play vs nasus but he wants to do it in his own way which is let the nasus get a lead and then have all the team go to nasus 1by 1. Conclusion: OMG NASUS OP 1v1 ANY CHAMPION

LordGeovanni2 votes

No champion in the game should be able to 1v1 every champion in the game in any situation even Jax cant do that Nor Master Yi and Wu Kong and their lore is centered around that. thing is even when you group nasus can still just insta delete anyone he decides to and if the enemy team focuses him they leave alone the enemy adc and other mages/ assassins to rip their back line appart.

Snowman Arc2 votes

I don't think Nasus can 1v1 everyone in the game. For one, it relies so much on if he has enough stacks, and also, it's easy to keep your distance from him. For example, an Azir with Rylais will destroy Nasus.

IP Masquerena3 votes

Nasus is fine, he's one of the champions made to teach you the importance of enemy win conditions, power spikes and focus.

He's super strong in trash tier because those players have no idea what any of the 3 things I said even mean, while in high elo, they know them inside out, so they know how to deal with it, hence why he is so weak there. It's not just about quicker games or communication, as some people suggest.

TyroneWatermelon3 votes

And he will always be so, along with most hypercarries, because a champions’s counterplay should never be “pick a hyper aggressive champion fight him 24/7 along with constant jungler camp to shut him down and win before x amount of time/items”.

MOM!

WHERE IS THE BRONZE DICTIONARY Found it THX! Lets see by this it says Low elo ppl cant counterplay or counterpick a champion wich is mostly getting destroyed by proper counterpicking wich is why its not super broken in high elo wich means low elo is just bad at the game wich makes this rant totaly useless.

Nasus begs for a rework

gabetheguy2 votes

proposal: buff him until he fucking decimates everything at low elo and is decent at high elo.

Jon 6789102 votes

Now is probably one of the worst times to complain about Nasus in my opinion. While I don't think he's healthy, the game state is absolutely abysmal for him.

At the time of this post, lolalytics is showing a winrate of 50.3% at bronze, which is around average. His play rate is pretty solid too, at around 10%. The problem is that his win rate decreases steadily as you go up, which you have stated.

The reason Nasus isn't good pretty much boils down to the following reasons. First of all, games are finishing quickly this season. Early advantages are very important for closing games out, and nasus is pretty weak without his core items. Secondly, tank play rates are low. Tank lanes are generally good for nasus since they have less kill pressure than fighters. Thirdly, everyone's playing enchanters. The issue with enchanters is that almost all of them have knockups, making tenacity useless, resulting in a champion that's easy to kite becoming even easier.

What I'm trying to say here is that Nasus doesn't even perform well enough at bronze, let alone high elo. You'd be better off discussing someone like yi, who performs better across the board while experiencing the same decline in effectiveness at higher elos.

LetMeCarry19832 votes

The only way Nasus can 1v9 is if you all of you picked carries. Eg. Yasuo(Top), Zed(Mid), Yi(Jg), Twitch(ADC), Soraka(Support). If that's the case, you guys deserved to get stomped by Nasus. Stop building these god awful comps. There are great tanky initiators like Shyvana, Malphite, Sejauni, Zac, Leona yet all Bronze seem allergic to these champs.

Smartest post I've seen in this thread. You have no idea how much it tilts me to see a Leona on the enemy team when I play Nasus. Doesn't matter how ahead I get in lane, it will be 4v5 when team fights start happening. I will never be able to do anything.

I'm low elo and I think he's bad. It doesn't matter how fed he is (unless he can 1 shot the adc) cause it's so easy to play around him. He's a bad laner, a bad teamfighter and not a great splitpusher.

becuse high elo players usally win in early/mid game. they usally try to end it around 15-25 minutes. while low elo players try to end around 35-60 minutes. low elo players: try to wait and finish on late game. high elo: try to finish in early/mid. and nasus is a truck in late and a cute homeless dog in early. same with those champs: Yasuo Vayne MasterYi Rengar Vayne Vayne Vayne Yasuo Vayne Yasuo Yasuo Vayne Yasuo Vayne

Step 2 always build iceborn. Step 3 farm normally and last build protobelt somewhere in thete . and now have fun doing the same damage as normal but doing more damage because of thw ap scaling and thats it. Thats how nasus shpuld be played becauae now youll have like 400 ap by just building 1 ap item.

Yeah, a silver V guy is teaching 1 million+ Nasus OTP that reached diamond even back in Season 6 (without Season 7 R buff). Dunning-Kruger symptom at its best.
