You know what I hate most about the current state of League?

How the current meta seems to have encouraged everyone to play all squishies in all roles at all times regardless of what type of opponent they are facing.

It's like the basic fundamentals of the game have gone completely out the window for the average player and I have to be honest it can get frustrating to play with people who don't know that in an all squishy comp you can't just recklessly fight or recklessly wander off to a side lane where your flanks are blind. It's really not damage in League that's an issue so much as it's the complete lack of fundamental knowledge held by the average player now a days. Now, don't get me wrong, there are reasons to play an all damage squishy composition and such a composition can be effective in the current meta, but that means you have to KNOW how to actually 1-3-1 effectively. All those basic fundamentals like warding and proper wave clear > back off > wave clear apply but these are the types of things the average player just flat out doesn't know or understand.

It's hard to play the game right and enjoy the process of doing so when every player is encouraged by the meta to play foolishly, recklessly, and selfishly.

People win more games and those games tend to be more enjoyable when the basic fundamental principals of the game are observed for both team composition and macro play. That's just my take on it, and it's an opinion, but this is the core reason for me as to why this season is less enjoyable than prior seasons.

TL;DR: Players spend too much time playing for themselves rather than the team and are encouraged to have these terrible fundamentals in the current meta.

Now that the serious stuff is out of the way please enjoy this depiction of some pretty epic teamwork.

I think it's more people don't trust there teammates enough to play tanks because they then have to rely on there teammates to provide damage.

Community calls for nerfs to all the defensive classes in the game.

Boards complain about dying too fast.

Grab the big bag of popcorn cause this ain't gonna end any time soon.

That’s why I like new Yorick. I can play tanky, make my own team, and can solo pretty much everything to carry my team to an undeserved win.

This.

People will always complain about the meta. I'm content with the idea that people will complain until things get nerfed and other things get buffed - I've simply accepted that the handful of champions I'm playing at any given time probably won't be worth picking in a month or two.

The issue is that these same people try to use data to prove their point - they don't actually understand the game. The people complaining the most about a champion often have no idea why that champion is strong. They lose a game to it, hop on a LoL statistics website, see the champion has a >50% win rate and declare that the champion needs to be immediately gutted. They don't understand what makes that champion strong. They don't understand the conditions that allow that champion to be strong.

People don't realize that champions like Trundle and Tahm range from like B-tier to S-tier based off what the ENEMY TEAM picks. Champs like Lee Sin and Orianna and Thresh range from A-tier to S-tier based on how weak their competition is - how fragile the state of that lane/role is at the time.

People have a fundamental lack of understanding of the game nowadays and, unfortunately, if they spam enough games in ranked, they end up plat-diamond anyway.

This is how it's always been.

Everyone play squishies not because of lack of game knowledge, but because everyone knows that it dosen't matter at all whatever you pick between a squishie and a bulky champion. There's litterally no distinct difference between them since everyone die at the same incredible speed and you can't prevent it anymore since anything that help survivability and that isn't either sustain or support shields isn't efficient at all to prevent damage whatsoever.

If a bulky champion does sufficient damage and scales fast enought, congratulations, its meta. If a squishy champion does sufficient damage and scales as fast too, congratulations, its also meta. But if whatever champion is used for any use outside of damage (outside of enchanters) then, its isn't as nearly efficient as other champions and won't be played as much.

Even if you say players are "selfish" because they take solo picks, they still want to win, and this is something they also want to see from their teammates. And since almost 3 games out of 4 or so are decided by whoever snowballs or stomps the enemy faster, they take what champions excels most at doing so. Since when picking the good champions who were forced into being hugely advantaged compaired to other by Rito a "terrible fundamental"? Damage is way too high and you can't deny that it really is the BIGGEST reason why this sh!tty meta is even there.

This is true. I consistently go up vs 4 ranged champions that mainly rely on poke or kiting. Rarely is their toplaner even a juggernaut or tank anymore

why would i play for my team when i have no idea how good they are, i trust myself over any teammate any day

This post explains why -

https://boards.na.leagueoflegends.com/en/c/gameplay-balance/3zO7ZZiu-league-feels-bad-why-three-areas-of-change-that-have-been-ruining-league-of-legends-slowly-stop?

League has over hybridized damage and brought too much true damage along with removing runes. Counterbuilding is alot less effective than it used to be and strategy has been being destroyed since season 6.

The best thing to do to even keep a positive mindset about anything in league now of days is just stay off of the boards, like actually most of the people in this complain the same things over and over. When the thing they were complaining about gets fixed they just move onto the next without them saying anything on boards than complain about champions that arent even that good. (because low elo) Like fiddle who has a 48% winrate with many other champions that are better than him in support and jungle. Then they complain about how an item does too much damage when the champion is fed for an unknown reason other than them feeding that player, Because everyone on their team is squishy*[zombie-brand-mindblown]*
