No triforce Corki

A while ago I made a threat about Corki not having much synergy with triforce anymore and today I tried not building it on a game... I also had Deathfire touch as a keystone as opposed to thunderlord's and had only magic pen from masteries as well, increased damage from abilities as opposed to attack speed... here's how it went

I lost xD but somehow I got an S? I ended 20/9/19 I had a VERY good thresh by my side and during laning phase the enemy vayne probably cursed me and my ancestors over and over again

I built item 3070 + item 1037 first and luckily as soon as I got to lane I leveled up to lvl 6 and was using rockets and every skill without much contempt, that said, Corki doesn't seem too apt on charging Tear, at least not as much as Ezreal... either way I managed to rack some kills and built item 3004 item 3508 item 3020 item 3146

I have to say that my damage while being somewhat high by that point, most of it came from outfoxing the enemy, getting them caught on the package trail was incredibly effective because it was doing crazy damage... for the first time I felt pretty confident jumping forward with it as opposed to sideways or backwards...

but my autoattacks were pretty lackluster, coming from building triforce on Corki you are so very used to chunk people from rocket + AAcrit but with this build my crits didn't feel particularly strong, as a matter of fact autoattacking didn't feel as useful, much less weaving skills, I kinda lived for the damage from the package trail alone until I hit level 16... this is where the fun really began with my ult at lvl 3 the big rocket was crazy, I chunked a vayne beyond half health with just 1, I also did 2/3 of a malzahar's health with Q+R alone...

Aside from autoattacks not being as good as a triforce build, I think that Corki's early ratios are too low to build around them and granted that he isn't particularly apt to stack tear as fast I think that this build isn't particularly effective either... also I find it so annoying that Valkirye has no AD ratio but the package does...

Next I'll try something like: item 3508 + item 3031 or maybe an early item 3072 ? does anyone play Corki around here anymore?

Why wouldn't you use Triforce on Corki? 40% AS and 20% CDR plus Rage and Spellblade on a champion that weaves spells and AAs often.

His passive even interacts with Spellblade to hybridize its damage too.

Another day of experimentation... I have found that this version of Corki is a LOT stronger but only during late game... until you get there it's an uphill battle

For starters, if you bring regular ADC runes (AD, AS, defenses) you'll screw your dps over, the build I was trying out was this one:

item 3508 item 3031 item 3072 item 3026 item 3020 item 3151

As you can see there's no AS in here in order to maximize damage from bonus AD ratios... so if you don't bring a full set of AS runes (Reds, blues and Quints AS, yellow defenses) you'll screw yourself over quite a bit, this means that during early game you have the shorter end of the stick on trades but the increased amount of autoattacks can be kinda useful and at times it can rival with the enemy (not against Jinx or Lucian though... for obvious reasons)

This amount of AS is more than enough to play at ease throughout the whole game, your main focus is then building as much AD as quick as possible, DO NOT buy anything else but a BF sword on your first back, if you gotta stay a bit until you get those 1300 gold coins, risk it and stay, buying anything else will set you back way too much.

during mid game your damage won't be very noticeable at first sight but staying in a prolonged fight WILL turn things on your favor, rockets kinda tickle a bit more than usual though, fighting you on your trail is deadly for the enemy who often times understimates the damage from the package, if you catch them against a wall at half health don't even bother turning around, they'll burn to death before they can react

Lifesteal seems a bit more useful than Omnivamp, not only does Bloodthirster gives a ton more AD but you heal a % of the total damage your autos do, not just the physical part and since you got a TON of AD you'll be healing by much more than with omnivamp (remember that it's only 33% effective on AoEs so in a duel you'll be healing less)

Lategame is when your ult is at level 3... one simple rocket can do great damage, up to 445, and a big one can do 890... that's insane, it can also hit multiple enemies which makes it even better and to top it all off, I bring deathfire torch so they burn from that AND from liandry's... I literally brought a Zyra to half health on one single big rocket. Getting jumped on isn't much of a problem because you can jump out and your autos heal you for a lot, don't weave Q in between autos, just R and E, save Q as a finisher since it does up to 500 damage and it extends your range a bit

Honorable mention: item 3001 Maybe not directly on Corki but if someone on your team has it... oh boy, the damage you'll be dealing increases even more!

TL;DR All in all it's a fun build and a different way of playing Corki but I think it's not really viable sadly... you take way too long to be significant and your team often times NEEDS your super good mid game... it's a shame though because maximizing the package's damage has been the most fun I've had with that skill since they gave it to Corki
