Riot isn't responding at all to player feedback.
This is a serious issue Riot. If you are going to ignore your community expect your community to let the game die.

inb4 'you're a riot whiteknight, so your opinion is less valued'.
What are you talking about? Riot literally responds all the time, it's one of the few companies I can praise for having exceptional communication with their players.
Just go onto the Red Tracker and you'll find a bunch of examples of this. And when players post something that gets alot of traction. Sure alot of feedback goes unanswered, because there is an insane amount of feedback, most of it being horrible feedback (either not thought out, or just plain not constructive) from people who don't have the slightest amount of knowledge in game development.
Riot is really one of the best companies at explaining their thought processes. They constantly make patches with well written notes, they have videos discussing larger changes they make, and the lead developers often reach out for player feedback.
Replying to feedback with replies on a forum =/= giving the players what they ask for in game.
E.g. people have been asking for tower buffs for some time, riot does not listen and keeps them weak.
I thought the title of the thread was "Riot isn't responding at all to player feedback," not "Riot isn't giving players what they want."
While they do have serious flaws in their balancing measures, not all player suggestions are going to work right off the bat. Things like "nerf damage by 10% across the board!" and "nerf this class of champions!" or even "make URF permanent!" does not always work in a vacuum.
Too fast changes (which some players suggest) can cause a lot of chaos and disgruntle players. Look at bot lane right now: people have been wanting ADCs to not be mandatory for years and look what happened in one patch. Imagine if they buffed towers and went too far: siege champions and those who excel at taking objectives would become dominant (possibly). Then they would have to nerf towers, buff them again if they're too weak, and become a pendulum of balance if they gave in too quickly to player demand.
I'd rather the company be transparent in their decisions (which they could use more of, tbh) than to give into player demand because we're not a hive-minded entity, we're a bunch of people with different opinions. It'd be stupid of Riot to completely ignore us, but they don't. Not completely.
What's the point of responding to player feedback if you're not going to do anything about it? Also, Riot has already done a good job disgruntling a lot of players with their rapid changes, most of which don't balance the game but alter it so that it's unbearable to keep with the change. Examples of this include: Mage update, juggernaut update, crit reworks, champion reworks, changing the jungle every season, etc.
"giving players what they ask for in game."
You do realize that the player base is not a hive mind of collective thought, this board is only consistent at contradicting itself. What I want for the game is not the same as what you want.
The boards has been asking for turret buffs pretty unanimously for a long time.
riot proceeded to "buff" turrets by actually nerfing them.
yes you are completely right, riot is very good at writing out "we understand that you find it frustrating that games are decided by 10 minutes and that turrets feel like tank fights in season 3 ..." "we are reducing turrets armor by 50 and giving it +5 health and -30 ramp up damage"
I just don't know how Riot thought it was a good idea to make base turrets even weaker. Like, really? That's your last line of defense for christ's sakes. Damage to them should stick, but they should pack a fucking wallop. Let the early game turrets regenerate from the shitty poke damage they take.
The community has been asking for tower buffs for a long time now and Riot only ever responded with a "we are biffing turrets" even though the patch they released "buffing turrets" was a direct nerf to them.

Half this assassin problem is that they can dive without giving a shit about the turret. They burst so fast they only get hit by 1-2 turret shots, maybe 3 at most. And it doesn't protect from them. They can go for kill after kill without consequence.
I can say this because I -do- it a lot on my main, Shaco. Hell, if I want, I can just have my CLONE do it for me.
If turrets aren't going to be durable, they need to at least HURT.
They might not respond to everything, but they do read the forums.

Damage too high. No response Turrets too weak. No response Games too short. No response ADCs are useless now. No response Remove or rework duskblade. No response Tanks are useless now. No response
Those are just a few I can think of.
Exactly this. They avoid the actual game problems like a plague.
They did respond to the turrets being to weak. By nerfing them even more. Twice.

Yeah all thosr ADC buffs sure shows they don't listen. Them reducing snowball in games sure shows they don't listen. Sorry but try again

The problem was not late game dmg. It was early game damage. So assassins and burst mages are the ones that decided the game. You'd be lucky to be at a bf sword by 10 minutes as an ADC.

More like this.
ADCs are useless now. No response
lol
It's fucking impossible to play tanks now.
Or
or they respond. just not the way you like.
There is a world beyond boards and they take a lot of effort to respond to feedback. They are one of the BEST to do that, and you can see yourself: not many devote so much space and time to answer feedback. Hell there is even a board section for that!

I agree with this 100%, however they have responded to ADCs being useless I should note. Meddler said they are buffing the ADCs from order of worst first. If RIOT finally buffs tanks and nerfs conquerer bruisers will quickly fall out of bot lane, leaving ADCs back to their role

Yeah but they're so selective if what they respond too that it can seem like they don't listen. And a lot of the time they don't.
I'm kind of glad Riot doesn't listen to gameplay forums. Like very glad.
Those Community Patchnotes sure made me gain massive faith in Riots Gamebalance team because at least they dont balance like us.
Jesus, reading those actually hurt
The thing about that. Most of the forum are silver/bronze. By putting restriction of necessary votes to get suggestion through they automatically removed any possibility to get any sensible suggestion. Only being allowed to write about 1 item/champion also hardly could help cuz you cant just buff/nerf items separately without considering impact from that and adjusting accordingly.
It was fun but provided 0 information on anything.
I'm with you.
same
Source? Or is this just the manifestation of the boards whining about Riot not bowing to their every whim, and not making it so that bruisers are literally unfightable as every other class?
Riot doesn't always listen to the community because game communities are simply stupid. No insult intended there, it's just a statement of fact. No forum has ever actually been able to balance a game, and 99.999999999% of the ideas that come out of it are either uselessly vague, or just useless at best, and damaging to game health at worst. Why should Riot actually listen to the ideas of a group of people that constantly bitched at them to do contradictory things? I sure as hell know you wouldn't listen to someone who was both below you in actual influence who just complained at you the entire fucking time.
The only purpose of the boards (for Riot) is to laugh at jokes, and to get a general idea as to what the biggest complaints are. The only reason they give two shits about your balance ideas is so they know what the community feels overall.
I don't know about you but literally any instance we called something out to be broken in PBE it was broken. I mean if you're gonna call US stupid riot's got to be full blown retarded if they couldn't fix ardents in fucking pbe, let alone a few months.
Pyke was totally broken. Totally.
Literally every patch has been exactly what the boards claimed they wanted, yet you still complain "rito isnt listening"?
Towers are still weak, duskblade is the same still, they are adding more damage into the game on stuff like ghost poro and zombie ward, ect.
All things the boards asked for sure
ADCs were nerfed, damage has, in general been nerfed and cherrypicking subpar runes getting buffed isnt going to help you, towers arent any weaker than theyve ever been players are generally just better at dives (most towers were even buffed, the buff was just removed from bot tower and bot tower alone)
"Cherrypicking". I gave two examples of damage being added, while you gave one vague example.
Your exact words were " literally every patch has been exactly what the boards claimed they wanted" when they literally have not been.
We didn't ask for the tailyah or poppy changes, we didn't ask for the teleport nerf, we didn't ask for the AD and AP buffs to domination, and these are off the top of my head, after going through the patches notes I found that on 8.11 inhibitor towers lost 300 health and nexus towers lost a whole 900 health and in return inhibitor towers got 10 more hp per second and on 8.9 they made towers take 10% more damage from AP, but ya know, towers strong as ever
Not doing yourself any favors. Youre listing specific examples of things they change because they have to at the pro scene, where in the result of all the changes together is exactly what people want.
People wanted jungle to stop being an early major impact level 3 ganks to level 1 lanes. Scuttle changes. You dont then get to cry "But why we didnt want this!" When its LITERALLY what you wanted. Just because you dont know how things work and how to make a change a reality doesnt mean you get to complain when someone who does gives you exactly what you wanted.
Its like telling a genie "I wish for $1,000,000", then complaining when your parents die in a horrible accident and youre awarded $1,000,000 in settlement fees. Its literally what you asked for.
Does that mean the genie is In the right then? It's literally not what you asked for, it's a twisted version of it. That's like wishing your cold to go away so someone shoots you in the head, well you don't have a cold anymore
They didn't need to do the scuttle changes, but they did for the sake of change
Oh and btw I know the tailyah one was for pro play but I know for a fact the poppy one wasn't. The rioter who reworked want to make those changes
I'm willing to bet you haven't done any actual background checking on this at all since you got the poooytowers haven't been buffed in a long time and actually got nerfed in the last few patches a couple times or the fact they have added more damage and only really nerf crit marksmen
"Riot didnt have to" yes, yes they did. They actually know what theyre doing. They know what they need to change to make things change. Scuttler changes were REQUIRED to get the jungle to the state the boards wanted. Just because youre ignorant of the consequences required to make a change doesnt mean you can feign innocence when said change occures.
And what makes you know any better? I like how you've ignored all the parts that you are wrong about, like how you said towers were buffed when the last 2 times they were touched were nerfs
The fact you don't know simple stuff like that really shows how little you know about the game. You busy want to convince yourself you are better then everyone else who doesn't agree with you. grow up
Oh please, towers were buffed repeatedly, and the last two changes were removing the buff for bot tower to kill bot/top switches in high tier play, and the other change was focused on letting baron pushes be more impactful with a minor nerf if anything, and a buff to proper defending.
That change was made ages ago idk what year you are living in, the 2 most recent tower changes were nerfs In 8.11 and 8.9. Can you tell me what patches they got buffed in?
I'm here to call bullshit, Riot does reach out to players not just on the boards but on other platforms like Reddit. The main reason they don't respond all the time is they don't want to accidentally promise something they can't go through with, so they'll sort things out before making a statement on the boards.
Yeah, the game's bad right now but it's not as if Riot is completely ignoring the community.
Trust me, they listen to the community but for their own sake. We have been bitching about bruisers for ages but riot sorts it out now. Why do you think? They first leave utility supports like soraka, janna, lulu cancerous for 1 whole season, then the lethality meta, then the tank, then adc, then assassin and finally somewhat bruisers and every mobile/burst champion meta.
They eventually do listen but look what they have done so whilst listening to us. Literally, every single champion has the potential to burst and the roaster is reduced to champions with high mobility. We clearly did not ask for this piece of sht they are feeding us.
Remember and mark my words, balance is not what riot is actually aiming for. They are forcing the playerbase to adapt to different metas so the game doesn't become stale and the side-effect of doing so is the balancing issue it has. If riot does not cure the symptoms, i truly believe their goal of not letting the game become stale will backfire eventually.

I mean, would you rather eat fresh shit or stale bread? I'll take the stale bread thanks.
Nice fresh fruit we have currently. However, instead of being sour, its salty.
The point was that riot needs to strike a balance between preventing the game becoming stale and having too many balancing issues. Instead of making gigantic changes every 2 weeks, they should give more time to players to adapt and this way there'll be less balancing issues.
Although riot has gotten better.. they have gotten a HELL of a lot lazier. I mean, look at new aatrox.. it's a riven clone with swain ult that doesn't doe AOE damage.. they could have at least done something better with his kit to fit his theme.
Then there's "oh we're going to do riot posts about the state of the game".. well, they do post, but it's mostly about new emotes and skins and only SLIGHTLY about how they are actually fixing the damn game.
oh and of course.. that whole article about a pigeon in armor.....
Lemme help you out with that. https://boards.na.leagueoflegends.com/en/redtracker
The boards make up a small portion of the player base and as a general rule after playing this game since Season 4, Rioters commenting and being open on the boards never leads to the kind of long time benefits you seem to think it will.
